Jill is Pregnant Again

It's in People and on Derick's twitter.

Some posts were approved earlier today and now I don't see them.  Sorry, I don't know where they went.

Wow! I am surprised they didn't save this announcement for the day the new season premieres. I am glad Jill can relax now that she has "caught up" with Jessa. I hope they decide to stay in the US until this baby comes and that she seeks the medical care she needs. I love to snark on the Duggars but do not wish them ill. I hope she has some real common sense this time and does not attempt to deliver in Central America. I am also glad there will be more than 2 years between Isreal and the baby. That is much better for her body and for her mental health.

ok jill said in a the announcement she has cases of pregnancy test? ok that is not normal those too have some type of mental issues? hope Jill does not have a home birth again?

Tanya T said...

I knew she was going to announce something soon. Though I still wonder if she is farther along in her pregnancy than she claims. The whole interview special just before Jinger's wedding she was looking pregnant and cried easily. Every photo I have seen of her since, she is either wearing something very loose around her middle or partially hiding behind something or someone.

Hoping the Zika virus is not involved in this pregnancy. It seems she returned to Arkansas
to become pregnant. Now she must demand to stay here to give birth to this baby since she had a difficult first birth ending in a C section. Derrick cannot be so cruel as to send her off to to Central America at this point. Derrick, if you are reading this........let Jill stay in America to give birth..do not risk her life for your saving of Catholics....consider saving the mother of Israel.

I also believe Jill returned to AR to become pregnant without the Zika virus hanging over their heads. Don't worry about Derick taking Jill back to CA while she is pregnant. Jim Bob can say all he wants to about how the husband is in charge but in the case of his daughters, he remains in charge & he always will. That was part of the plan when he hand picked the husbands for those girls. Not one of them has found a husband on their own, no matter what they say & most of the time it's been that they met on a mission trip. Strange isn't it that we have seen so many of these mission trips filmed for TLC but not even one where a future husband was even mentioned if he was on that trip with anyone from the Duggar family. Jim Bob has a great deal to hold over his married children's heads. There can be the threat of no mansion for Jill & Derick to return to if they go back to CA while Jill is pregnant or when she has an infant only weeks old. Also "if" & that's a big "if" there is any money they might be getting from their share of the TLC profits, although I don't think they get much, if any. I believe Jim Bob handles the money. Anyone who has watched the Duggars for a long time will remember that Jim Bob has said more than once, that he has enough land for all of them to build homes there on his property & he has said to Michelle on camera, "just think momma we could end up with over one hundred grandchildren." He wants the grandchildren count to continue to increase the same way his own family increased. Probably hoping TLC will hang in there for another generation of the Duggars, thereby insuring that he will live in the very luxurious style he has grown accustomed to. It would be beyond belief if Jill returned to CA while pregnant. I'm sure she will need another C-section. Yes, I know it's not always necessary to have another C-section just because you've had one before & Michelle is a prime example of that but it's more likely than not, that she will need a C-section & I'd hate to think of her going through that in CA. As a matter of fact, I hope she has the brains to have good prenatal care & a hospital delivery for her life as well as her baby's life. However Jill & brains in the same sentence don't actually go together. Please think of this child before you do something folish for the cameras.

What kind of a moron do you have to be to announce to the world that you have been desperately peeing on pregnancy test sticks for months now? Too much information, Jill!!! I honestly think she has no clue how else to tell if one is pregnant. Who buys boxes of pregnancy test kits? This woman is an absolute simpleton.

Ruby said...

Jill claims on her video with "mom and pops" that she is three months along. That takes them to June. So how can your baby be born in July, Jill? July is 7.5 months from now, Jill. These people lie like a rug and twist their narrative to make themselves look legit.

lisa mcgingess said...

anyone see those video that the family did wishing jill and derrick conjugations on the new baby. why do you have to do video on everything. I think they are attention starved family that is why they do it. so sad. wonder if they will be going back to south america.

Heart in Florida said...

I watched this announcement with the parents twice; once without the sound to observe body language, etc. more easily. The LEAST excited was Derick. Not sure if he's really ready for more children yet. Jill, anxious as always, as this child is her ticket to stay in the USA right now. It's no secret that she hates it down there. The most UNNATURALLY EXCITED is Michelle. She is ill at ease and fake in front of the camera. Her over the top delivery is just not believable. This is a sign of an underlyingly unhappy person. Michelle, please don't deliver such an insincere delivery of your happiness for "more babies". Jim Bob was business as usual in his delivery. This news in this family is anti-climactic; reaching the boring stage here. More babies is what they do.

Eli said...

You would think with her midwifery training Jill would be the most likely to understand the timing of conception and when to take a pregnancy test. Clearly not. These people are ridiculous.

Aunt Bea said...

Too bad Michelle never got that "heart for children" she asked the Lord for all those years ago. This woman just isn't relaxed with her own ADULT children, let alone the younger ones. I'm tired of Michelle's insincere laugh, fake smiles and overall discomfort in front of the camera when with children....anyone's children.

smee said...

Aunt Bea--is anyone else tired of hearing Michelle scream "haaaaaaappy birrrrrthdaaaaaay" at the camera to her own children who are standing right there? She never looks into their eyes, never connects with them, just screeches like a pterodactyl.

Susie said...

Get prenatal care throughout your pregnancy. This is not an ultrasound visit or listen to the heart beat, this is care by a doctor throughout the pregnancy!

Go to a hospital to have your baby!

Get an epidural!

Meme said...

Here's what I think. I believe that Jill got pregnant because she HATES living in scary CA and doesn't want to go back. With the Zika virus situation it is so easy to say, "look Derick, I need to stay here in the states for the sake of our baby." Problem solved.

Now about Joy, where do I start? She's courting someone she's been close friends with for a loooong time. Anyone ever tried to date a guy you were best buddies with, only to realize that it wasn't going to work? I did it once and sometimes you just CANNOT get comfortable. That boy knows you a little too well, or maybe for too long - heck, maybe both. Anyway, it doesn't always work. I would be very concerned about that if I was Joy's parent. I am sure that Jimbob and Michelle are worried sick (she says as her nose grows four inches).

Big kite said...

I think that Jill was using birth control while in CA to avoid a Zika baby.

Aimee said...

Big Kite - I agree! I do think that Jill/Derick used some method of Birth Control while away. They seem to have gotten pregnant just as soon as they returned to the States for this hiatus. Plus it would have cost and arm and a leg to have one of those BIG boxes of pregnancy tests shipped to CA! Goodness knows everyone needs to take TONS of tests! Geez!

Jellybean said...

This drives me CRAZY! How can she be a grown woman with 18 siblings, one baby of her own and training in Midwifery and not understand the concept of HCG levels?? Or at the very least, understand the concept of menstruation? I've been married 9 years, taken two pregnancy tests and have two children. Even in the months we were trying to concieve, I didn't take a test until I had missed a period. Checking before that is useless, as HCG levels are low. Even the really expensive early detection tests say right on the package that results are less accurate before a missed period.

For people obsessed with saving money, they sure do waste a lot on unnecessary pregnancy tests!

Esther said...

The way Derick looked when they were in CA would be all the birth control I needed.

Laurie said...

The Duggars don't use birth control. It goes against the very fiber of their be being, as per Michelle's constant reiteration. Maybe the Dillards' practiced abstinence while in CA. No wonder Derek may be so cranky. No fun for months, then when they do, BABY!

Just Me said...

Big Kite. Absolutely agree with you 100% that Jill was using birth control. She was probably using it due to the Zika virus but should have been letting her body heal as well after the C-section & then packing up & leaving this country for CA.so soon after a difficult birth.

Re:Meme's comment about Joy being close friends with this boy Austin. I don't believe that for one minute. Perhaps she has been friends with a sister of his if he has one, I don't know if he does or doesn't but otherwise it's the same story different day with the Duggars. All these prospective husbands have shown up out of nowhere only for the Duggars to announce that their daughters have known the men for quite sometime from mission trips the went on together. Nobody saw or heard a thing mentioned about them if that was true. Strangely they just appear when it's convenient for Jim Bob to get something interesting going in the storyline for the viewers. I would have bet anything that a suitor was going to show up immediately for Joy, after Jinger's rather surprise, courting, engagement & marriage. As others have said it's been like a cattle auction. The boys certainly aren't candidates so it had to be Joy. Nobody still really knows where Ben came from. He arrived on scene, moved into the shed & shortly thereafter was courting Jessa. You all know the rest of the story. All the girls courting, engagements & weddings have certainly done what they were supposed to do..helped take the spotlight off of Josh & his problems.

Heart in Florida said...

The Duggar children are barely allowed to have ANY friends outside of their siblings, let alone a friend of the opposite sex. No way Joy and Austin were "friends" all these years. They most likely were within eyeshot of one another on those family trips to the "fort". Nothing more. This Austin kid, I don't know him, of course, but doesn't look like the "ranch hand" type of guy to me....sheltered himself, does what his parents tell him to do...etc.

Heart in Florida said...

I agree with the belief that Jill was desperately trying to conceive as soon as their feet his U.S. soil as this baby would be her good excuse to stay here and not return to CA in the near future. Yes, that's leaving it up to God, now, isn't it? I also don't think it wise to not wait the full two years since Israel's botched delivery before conceiving another child. If they REALLY wanted to adopt, this would have been the time, as Israel is older than 9 months. Fat chance these people will ever have more than 9 months between children, like Jessa and Ben...liara that THEY are.
I also suspect that Jinger may have also "hit the jackpot". Her eyes looked different to me in that silly video they made. Anyone else notice?

smee said...

Jill must have been taking one or more pregnancy tests each time she and Derick mated. She clearly has no clue.

Urlsela said...

The thought of Jill and Derrick making a baby is disgusting. He looks filthy and crazy yet she must submit to him. Derrick has no respect for his Jill, looking as he does. Is is disheveled look some sort of protest against Jimbob's perfectly hair sprayed hair and also the fact that Jimbob took him to a doctor to improve his looks having his mouth messed up in a painful operation and long recuperation that ended with Dillard sporting a weird mouthfull of too big new teeth?

Blah said...

Re: Urlsela, What makes you think Jim bob made him undergo that surgery? I never thought of that before, so I'm curious how u came to that conclusion...

Aunt Bea said...

Blah: I think it's possible that the Duggar family coerced Derick at least a bit to have that jaw surgery too, because this family is obsessed with orthodontics. I bet Jeremy has some "ivisalign: soon himself.

artgirl said...

I hope they don't go back to CA. Jill is not well suited to missionary work. She is just going through the motions. I think she is a person who needs a steady and safe life, and doesn't have the intellectual fortitude for lie overseas or missionary work. I think she is living the life her parents told her too and her arranged marriage is not working either.

Derrick looks SICK, and he needs to get some medical care and then once he is better get a job and be a man and the last thing those two need is another baby. I think both of them are already unhappy but not willing to admit it to themselves or each other. Derrick looks like he will cut out one day and "be done". Fame has not been kind to him. I think he is depressed too having his looks ruined by whatever quack surgeon Jim Bob sent him too. One of those men need to grow up and stop being bossed around by their father-in-law.

Who knows? said...

Re:Heart in Florida. It's Jessa & Ben who are constantly talking about adopting not Jill & Derick. Now they are saying they have learned that they can't adopt while they have babies under a certain age. They didn't know that. Where are their brains?
So now they are teasing about twins the same thing they did with their first child. Sorry but I don't think they have a brain between them. They live in a small house & will have 2 under 2 yrs. old & they though they could adopt.

Urlsela said...

Blah, when Jill was take to meet Derrick, Jimbob said something about it not being important about how he looks, that he was a good person.....now I do not remember the exact words but that was in the idea. The Duggars are really into orthodontic work as shown on their show plus I also read that someone in the Duggar area said Jimbob took Derrick to a cut rate sort of doctor/dentist. The guy looked normal before the surgery, then quickly went down hill to the point of scary, not looking normal. He most likely endured very bad pain so how better to get back at Jimbob for trying to improve his looks then to go overboard with the long messy hippy hair.

Meme said...

I got that info from a NW Arkansas friend. He said that the two families had been friends for "years". However, I don't have any proof or anything, just the word of a good friend. He also said that Jimbob was gonna milk this thing for all it's worth (by giving viewers a reason to keep on watching the show). Well, surprise surprise.

Aunt Bea said...

The Dillards recently made a statement that they're considering and praying about adoption. It was posted in the baby #2 mix of statements from them.

betty blop said...

I could not agree more with that derrick and Jill are not happy. I would be derrick will go back to central america without Jill at some point saying it is not safe for her their while having a baby? when will this show end. I hope someone see that Jill is not well and get her some help.

Just thinking said...

Well isn't that a surprise that Jim Bob will do just about anything to keep the show on the air. What is wrong with TLC? They had a good show with the Little Couple but they haven't been on in quite sometime. I hope Jen is ok & doesn't have a re- occurrence of her cancer. Maybe the Little Couple doesn't want to keep up their association with a network that doesn't mind child molesters.

Andrea said...

Aunt Bea said: "because this family is obsessed with orthodontics." Have you seen Josh's teeth? Seriously, he has had no orthodontic work done. I also kind of recall, some sort of joke Jim Bob made once about the girls getting orthodontic work done because their looks were important but less so for the boys. Gross I know. Anyone confirm?

I have no idea why Derrick would feel the need to fix his teeth, they looks totally ok to me before.

Ruby, I absolutely agree about public displays of affection. Worked in the office of a large company. It never failed that on Valentines Day the oneswho got the biggest displays were the ones that had some big problems. Every single one of them ended up divorced.

It's been obvious from the very first show that "leaving it to God" is the last thing on the Duggars' mind. From the boxes of pregnancy tests to the charting of monthly cycles on the family calendar to all the not-so-veiled comments about procreation, it's absolutely clear that getting pregnant is the MOST important act any Duggar can perform. And if I were a girl raised in that environment, where my only value was measured by how many babies I pop out, I would probably pursue pregnancy like they do. I suspect both Jessa and Jill were strongly warned not to get pregnant right away after their first difficult pregnancies, but I'm guessing abstinence was the only birth control they used. I'm also betting that both girls had no real interest in their husbands' "needs" for several months, at least. They both had pretty traumatic and physically challenging experiences. As for Zika, I don't think either Jill or Derrick give a hoot about that, because they believe God will protect them. However, it should be noted that current research has shown the virus can live in a man's sperm for months after exposure. In fact, many of the male athletes at Rio were warned they should delay any pregnancies for up to twelve months after returning home. So just being conceived in Arkansas is no guarantee of safety for Jill's baby. So sad to see all these girls reduced to baby machines, but as long as they believe it's a competition, and the one with the most babies "wins," there will be no end. And as long as JimBob thinks he can keep the checks coming with weddings and babies, you know the pressure will be on.

Willow said...

I'm pretty sure that at least Joe, Josiah and Jason have had braces. I think James just got them also. Not sure about the others off hand. To me, Derick's teeth were previously not perfect, but he had a really cute and individual smile; nothing that needed correction IMO. Now, however, I'm sure we cannot tell him anything he does not already know. Someone goofed. If Jim Bob urged him to do it for the show, then Jim Bob owes him big time, IMO, and the dental surgeon needs to be sued, unless there is something going on that we don't know about. I feel kind of sorry for him in a way, because I don't think he is really smart enough to manage his own life. Too bad.

betty bop said...

who is paying for those braces on all those kids teeth. those are prices about 6,000 that is without insurance? I doubt Jim bod has any insurance? I am really wondering if they do have insurance can he get a group discount because he has so many?

Andrea, yes, Josh is the only one who has escaped braces so far. Don't know why he did, but all of them, including Anna since then have had their teeth "worked on".

Re: Just Thinking's comments about "The Little Couple"

Off topic, I know. But, to my knowledge, the reason they haven't been on in quite some time is because of some sort of legal mess with the production company, LMNO Productions. From what I understand, several other Discovery Network shows were affected as well. The only news articles I can find are from back in June, though, so I'm not sure what might have developed with the situation since then.

Tatom said...

I remember thinking how handsome Derick was when we first saw him. He was a cute little kid also.

If the dental work was a freebie to get the 'surgeon' some great publicity I wonder if Derick can sue.

If Jim Blob was behind it all I wonder what Derick really feels toward JB now.

Estella said...

I do not understand why people have to have absolutely perfect teeth. It is true Derrick's were a little off but nothing so bad that he had to get those big false looking teeth and reportedly jaw surgery. I wonder what Jill thinks of all this. She married a cute looking man with a sweet smile and suddenly, within a year, his entire face has changed, he's lost a lot of weight, grew his hair long and in every picture he looks like he needs a good bath, shampoo and shave. Jill must feel very out of control of her life, not that she ever was but this is over the top.

Wondeing said...

Re:Estella's comments. I have to agree with your comment about why does everyone need to have perfect teeth. I have noticed over the past couple of yrs. that not only with a reality show like the Duggars, everyone who is on TV, or just people you see in the store, especially all the young people have been to an orthodontist & have the exact same bright white smile. Everyone has the same teeth in this day & age. In every high school graduation picture, the graduates have the same exact same smile. I think good oral hygiene is great & a nice smile is wonderful but when every person you see whether on TV or in the grocery store has the same smile it's getting weird. Everyone has been to the orthodontist & a good number have had their teeth whitened. Of course, it does seem that something went seriously wrong with whatever treatment Derick had done & I personally didn't think he needed any dental work but who knows with these people. Guess Jim Bob expects this train wreck to last forever. Look for Jenny & Jordyn to have braces soon.

All Done said...

I agree with the bloggers who think that Derick is a mess. Even if he let just let his hair grow long, it wouldn't be so bad but he still look like he needs a good long shower. He's just plain dirty looking & if he was my husband & underwent this change, I wouldn't want him near me. There's something seriously wrong going on in that marriage & I think they have Jim Bob to thank for a great deal of it, after all he's the genius who chose these men for his daughters. I'll bet the rest of the girls are still saying, we let daddy pick the man for us to marry. I've got news for them, daddy doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to picking husbands that will make his daughters happy because he doesn't really care if his daughters are happy. He chooses to pick men that he can control, not men who are great husband material, because that's what's most important to him. Guess Jim Bob doesn't realize that most women can & do pick their own husbands. Didn't Michelle pick her own husband? I don't believe for one minute that he cares about his daughters happiness.

Just Me said...

They probably didn't think Josh needed any work on his teeth because he was already married when they started having all the kid's teeth fixed & they all started going to the orthodontist. He had his business & of course was about to become a father. He was out of the house & Anna adored him .

Maybe DerrickDillard always needed the surgery but never had the means to pay for it until he joined the Duggar train.

Jimbob is so obsessed with straight & perfect teeth so why is he not concerned about the pimples several of the children sprout? Some of them have needed help with skin problem over the years. Also, I do not understand this "defrauding" thing. Isn't wearing too much eye make up and creating curly hair out of straight hair being false? With their frame of minds, I do not understand why the girls cannot embrace the way God made the and not change their natural appearance with too much makeup and those over the top hair sprayed styles......such as Michelle's stuck in the 1980's look which Jinger is now sporting, looking more like Michelle in every photos (not a compliment). The girls all need haircuts and to go easier on the harsh black eyeliner.

Re:Derick & the Duggar kids having braces. The big difference between the Duggar kids & Derick is the Duggars only have braces, which are much less invasive than the jaw surgery Derick had almost immediately after marrying Jill. Jill & Derick both talked about the jaw surgery he had when she was in the hospital having Izzy. Some of the Duggars have the ivisalign braces a big difference compared to whatever they did to Derick.

Mindi said...

Re:Mrs. Jensen's comments about the Duggar kids & the pimples they have sprouting. It's more than pimples, many of those kids have very bad acne. The girls especially I think, from the long hair that hangs into their faces. The acne appears worse right around that area of the chin. I worked in a surgeon's office some yrs. ago when it was popular for boys to wear their hair so long. Finally the Drs. refused to keep lancing the cysts at the back of their necks from their oily hair. Many were athletes who wore helmets during their games & that didn't help their skin. They were constantly getting these sebaceous cysts. The Duggar girls rarely tie back their hair even when cooking or working in the kitchen & their hair never looks as if they had just shampooed it.

Stephanie said...

Regarding Dericks teeth being worked on after marriage, Anna's teeth look 100% better as well. Just look at the old clips of her compared to now. They never discuss it but they have fixed both of their teeth

Bird said...

Im curious what they use to wash their hair and face, remember, back in the day, they made their own detergent and hand soap, I think...

Mrs. Jensen said...

Do they even use soap on a regular basis? I'm curious when the children bathe if they just drop where they are when tired, not even changing into pj's. It's a mother's duty to make sure children are clean and get proper rest so they are bright and ready for school but here in Duggerland, with no school, sporting or social activities, things are much easier for momma. They are like feral children, raising themselves. We see how it turns out by the lazy ways of Jill & Jessa who do not have any interests, hobbies or jobs, other then posting pictures on the internet, living in messy houses, looking at their swollen stomachs and acting ignorant about even cooking a meal though they asked for a load of kitchen gadgets in wedding registeries.

I just realized what Derik's motive is with the long hair and unkept look. It distracts all of us from constantly noticing and making remarks about his botched dental surgery.

The Christmas morning video was a bit disturbing. I thought Jimbob had the boys dorm on one side of the house and the girls on the opposite. What on Earth is going on with all the adolescent males sleeping together in the living room? They're not allowed, according to Jimbob, to just sleep anywhere. So, either the rules aren't being enforced or the "rules" were made up to cover for being proactive/reactive to Josh molesting his sisters and the other female.

Re: Just sayin's comment about Jim Bob saying that the kids just can't sleep anywhere. He is lying though his big white teeth. Those kids have always just slept anywhere they wanted to, or anywhere they dropped. As mentioned before we have seen little ones sleeping on the stairs many, many times. There is no bedtime routine for those kids. They don't have a bath, then into pj's & into clean bed with clean sheets, blankets & a pillow. There have never been prayers with each individual child. Instead they have evening devotions for the entire family which often start quite late, around 9p.m. considering the young children are involved in these. There's nothing wrong with evening devotions but if you're going to involve everyone in the family down to the toddlers & babies it's pretty late for that when you don't start until 9p.m. I remember that many, many times we have seen the little girls sleeping in bed with the older girls. Jana might have one child with her in her bed & the same with Jill & Jessa. Also the babies were put in those "travel cribs" the kind you can fold up & take with you if you go on a trip. I have never seen them in a real proper crib. The only time we ever saw a real crib was when Jim Bob & Michelle were in either the attic or some storage area, getting a crib to give to Jill & Derick. We never saw that crib in Jill's house. I remember once after evening devotions, when Josie was so frail & could barely walk after devotions she headed right into the big girls bedroom. She was stills so frail & of course subject to seizures but I guess that was the older girls problem. These people lie on top of lies. Those kids definitely just sleep wherever they want & Jim Bob knows it,so he's lying. Also Michelle claims she has an open door policy for her children to come into her bedroom at night if they need something or are frightened, however we also see the great big bolt/lock she has on the inside of the bedroom door, so I wonder how the kids make their way through the open door with the huge bolt on it?

Michelle said over and over, the kid's are up till midnight, then just drop wherever...There is nothing to get out of bed for in the morning, no job or school, so Duggar time is fine for them, the crib? I remember the show when they moved into the tinker toy house, Johanna was born and put in a crib, I think only because the designer made the little area and it had to be shown on tv. Michelle and her special, favorite baby gets the crib in her room while she is still, acting, mom, then once the novelty has worn off, 6 or so months later, they are put in a pack n play in the girls room. I do remember Michelle saying each new baby gets new bedding, she talked about it in that specialty baby store...

At 3 months Jilly Muffin should be over her morning sickness or at least focused on dealing with it if it is lasting longer. But with this second pregnancy, carrying on about it and trying to garner attention by posting about it is childish. Time to grow up Jilly Muffin, everyone has morning sickness to one degree or another. You are not special or unique. You should be telling us about the prenatal care you getting and what your birth plans are thi time around. No one wants to watch another near-disaster DIY home birth.

RE: Cat's comments. So Michelle says over & over again that the kids just drop & sleep where they are & Jim Bob says they are not allowed to do that. Does this mean that Michelle is publicly contradicting her "wonderful husband?" Cat, you're absolutely correct that there was a crib shown once when they were showing how the house had been decorated. Sorry I had forgotten about that, however no matter what Michelle says, I seriously doubt that each new baby gets new bedding. You have jogged my memory about the time they went to the specialty store to get the bedding. They took the entire family, the same way Kate Gosselin took the entire family to pick out beds for the children. Although she ended up picking them out of a catalog. Anyway there they were, the entire Duggar family in this very small specialty store, picking out items for the expected baby. I remember that Jim Bob sat in a rocking chair the entire time while he complained about how tiring it was to go shopping with his wife, his back was hurting, he was exhausted, & of course they were hurting his wallet in this store, etc. By the way it was Michelle that was heavily pregnant, not him. There was a small play area & they sent the little kids to play there. One of the crew members came & got Jana to tell her that Jackson had found a music box & was, "DANCING" to the music. Jana went immediately to check this incident out & she asked Jackson to show her what he was doing. He started dancing to the music again. Jana then informed everyone that sometimes the little kids do that but they call it; "jumping for joy or jumping for Jesus." Jana then returned the music box to the shelf. Believe me, I could never make this up. Then Jim Bob got into the conversation, saying that you never know how even the simplest toy could lead kids to desires that could not be righteously fulfilled, i.e. dancing around shaking all parts of your body. The poor ladies that worked in that store must have been so happy to see them leave. I never knew why Michelle & a couple of the older girls couldn't have gone shopping without the entire family with them. Well actually, yes I do they had to make it into an episode for the show.

RE: Aunt Bea's comment about Kelly Bates & her poor grammar. She & Gill do it all the time. I'd like to see their college diplomas. I guess we all have something about the poor grammar used on the Duggars show too. For me, it's the constant use of Michelle & me, or Josh & me. It's basic grammar to say Michelle & I, or Josh & I.

Aunt Bea said...

Let's not forget Jim Bob's infamous "Michelle and I's". Nails on a chalkboard. These are people who are home schooling?

I also believe that Michelle does not know how to write in cursive. Her generation of students did learn and have to write in cursive past the 4th grade, if I remember. I suspect this is true of her inability because her official signature on a real legal document regarding the custody of her grand-nephew was for the most part in print, not even a distinct signature. So sad.

Heart in Florida said...

Always, re: Cat's comment about the new crib bedding shopping extravaganza..you are correct about this episode...but Michelle was that she wanted new bedding FOR THIS baby. Not every new baby got new bedding. I think that child got new bedding because the trip to the store was being filmed and TLC PAID for that new bedding. I didn't care for Michelle's selection at all.

I agree with "Ruby" that Jill should be over her morning sickness by now. I think she's grabbing for attention here. What we all want to know is when are they planning to return to the "mission field"? None of what these two have done since they met has made any long term sense to me. From Derick wandering around Nepal, to his real job at Walmart, life-time wedding registry list, quitting his job, jaw surgery, taking off for Central America, conceiving a child while here with Zika threat, plans or no plans to return down there? What happened to all their household wedding gifts? No sense AND no planning on their part.

paula said...

I always figured ol Jim Bob had told Jill and Derick to request everything they could and that old greedy thing would put all the extras in the family's warehouse and use them when then needed a new vacuum cleaner or whatever.

Didn't Jill and Derick ask for liters of pop like Orange Crush? It was like reading a list put together by a couple of 6 year olds.

I wonder if these two learned anything with poor little Izzy, their practice child. Their absolute ineptness with the sling, swaddling him, the car seat, letting him play on a filthy floor etc

Poor Cathy. She seems like a sweet lady. I am sure it is hard to see her little grandson being raised like that.

RE:Aunt Bea's comments about the Duggars grammar. Yes the worst is Michelle and I's. Don't know why that didn't come to mind immediately. There just so much to choose from. It's exactly like nails on a blackboard!

Always said...

Yes Heart in Florida, that was exactly what I meant when I said I seriously doubted that each new baby got new bedding. I agree, it was for the filming that they did the trip to a specialty store. After all, they do all their shopping at thrift stores. You know.... buy used & save the difference! It was ridiculous to drag all those boys with them on that shopping trip. I think it's a pretty safe bet that Jordyn never got anything new.

Fed Up said...

Re:Paula's comments. Believe me, Jill will never learn anything different in raising the next child, or the next, or the next. After all she's had plenty of practice with her mother's children. She should know how to raise a baby but so far it hasn't helped.

dora said...

Jill had no proper mentor to teach her how to raise kids. I don't believe Michelle would have been allowed to have accepted instruction as Jim Bob believes in learning by osmosis.

So they bumble along not smart enough to realize how they are messing up not just their kids but their grandkids and other generations are affected.

Carrie said...

Jill has posted that the 3 little girls, including Josie, have been assigned to clean her house and do her laundry !! She and Derrick are living in Jimbob's big brick mansion house. How will Jill ever handle 2 babies? Average women take care of children and clean their own houses while holding down a full time job. Those little girls are slave labor.

Marites H said...

This is (tongue firmly planted in cheek) a "ministry opportunity" for the lost girls to develop more of a "servant's heart" toward Big Sis who got herself knocked up to avoid another "mission" trip to CA. Carrying a new Duggar life in her tummy (as Michelle calls the uterus) is a more important job than lowly housework. After making it through the first trimester, Jill must be so ungainly, exhausted and unable to move around to do these tasks herself. Lazy Jilly Muffin has been well-trained by her beloved Daddy.

In about 10-15 years, those lost girls will be on Jim Bob's auction block, being sold to the highest (most easily manipulated) bidder. Maybe by that time, Jana might possibly be away to break away. Of course by then, it's Mama & Daddy who will probably need a stay-at-home daughter/nursemaid.

I don't think of the 3 littlest girls going to Jill's to "help out" is all that it appears. My bet is Jana has her hands full doing all the housework, cooking, baking plus dealing with all the lazy Duggars boys lounging around all day that she can't possibly do it all herself. Remember that Grandma left the compound, Jill, Jesse, and Jinger are all married off. And now Joy is courting and most likely engaged soon. So Joy is basically, lost in love and no help. And heaven forbid Michelle or Jimboob lift a finger. It was impossible for Jana to properly supervise all the little girls with all the teenage and older Duggar boys lounging around the house.

tricia said...

No wonder they all want to get married and get pregnant quickly. She gets to be Queen Bee popping out kids like Michelle and having others do the slave work.

This is just plain wrong.

Does Precious Miracle have to do anything or is it just Hannie, Jenny and Jordyn who is waiting on Jill hand and foot? Makes me more disgusted with that bunch.

I am sure the women are more valuable to Jim Bob for their ability to push out kids and it is cheap if they do it without medical
help.

I see exactly why lazy Jill didn't want to go back to Central America. She likes having unpaid slaves That she can control via whining to Jim Bob.

I couldn't believe it when Jill was quoted as saying that her young sisters as well as her MOMMA came over to help out with the housework. Michelle doesn't do her own housework but now she's helping Jill out?

Misty said...

No, doubt Michelle is only driving the kids over to Jill's house and supervising her little slave girls, who should be either at school, a sporting events or playing with friends. These little girls have no idea how others live, being kept in the dark doing all the work for the adults. Really, sounds like old South slavery is alive and well in Duggarland. Reports have stated the kids are hit with rods as prescribed by Gothard's Raising Up book if they do not do as told. Blanket training begins the process. Just thinking of blanket training makes me sick. Deliberately causing pain to an infant has to be done by someone totally lacking empathy. I wouldn't do that to my puppy.

Someone above mentioned the girls being auctioned off to the the most manipulative bidder. In the case of Dillard, it seems he conned Jimbob as a clean cut, college educated young man to be given Jill. Once he was in Dugger family.. he quickly showed his true colors with the ministry scam, one big holiday in CA not wanting to work or even keep himself looking neat and clean..which must really annoy Jimbob as he's obsesses with his own clean & sprayed perfect hair. Unemployed Jeremy is already reaping the rewards of being a Duggar husband since he seems to be able to travel about the world, now spending the holidays up North, going to shows in NYC. That ministry job in Texas border town doesn't seem to require an onsite pastor ! Ben is just Ben, a kid who was roped into the Duggar family to marry Jessa to keep her pure as she had the most spirit so possibly could stray so his purpose is to keep Jessa barefoot & pregnant, safe from temptations. Young Joy...it seems the 2 fathers have made a deal regarding their young children pushed into a quick arranged marriage. The campground business could pick up with a Duggargirl on premises and present a new story line for TLC.

Educated said...

I'm surprised that Jim Bob would allow a college educated guy near one of his family members. Unless, he wants to destroy them, in order to show how much better he is, than an educated person. Poor Derick!

Just asking said...

I have an absolutely darling 9 month old Granddaughter & I cannot even conceive of striking a little baby as in blanket training. It's so wonderful to watch them explore their little world. To hit a baby is beyond belief. I can't believe this is the way a Christian family or any other family for that matter treats a sweet little baby. Somebody knows how those children are treated & it's abuse & it should be handled by CPS. Yes I know how overworked most agencies are but still these are little babies.

Willow said...

All the sons-in-law are more educated than Jim Bob or his own children. Derick and Jeremy have college degrees, as well as Ben, who has an AA. I think Joy's boyfriend has some education as well, as I think he is an EMT or paramedic or something similar. I confess I do not know his exact education but it appears to be more than ANY Duggar children. Does anyone else know any more about Austin's education/work experience? Wasn't he an EMT in Texas? I am also curious if Austin lives at the camp and/or works there? I wonder if he is still an EMT or if he gave that up to move "back home".

Elspeth said...

I haven't seen any indication that any grandchildren are being blanket trained. That looks like a practice even the elder Duggars abandoned.

Cindy said...

Ewwww...how on earth did Jill allow Derick to get close enough to impregnate her? He looks like he needs a wire brush scrubbing. The long hair doesn't bother me if only it was clean. Anyway, I hope she gets some real prenatal care and goes to a HOSPITAL to deliver. They got lucky with Israel - he seems to have survived his birth and appears to be developing normally. You cannot count on the same luck with a second birth. Knowing she ended up with a C-section should be enough to push Derick to care enough to take his wife to a doctor. Maybe they are counting on getting a sister (Jana? Johannah?) to move in to the guest McMansion and take care of both babies if Jill has complications. Sounds like a great plan...

Marley said...

Those pregnant Duggar girls do not face the reality of childbirth. I believe they will try to birth the new babies at home again, only going to the hospital when a dire emergency occurs. If this is the case, wouldn't it will prove their husbands do not really love them to allow these stupid girls to struggle at home again? I still can't believe Jessa pushed out that huge baby without pain relief. It must have been quite a horrific & painful scene, especially for Ben to watch.

five eighths said...

Marley, I agree with you that these ignorant, lazy Duggar girls don't and won't learn anything from past experiences. Jessa Blessa and Jilly Muffin will stay home and push out their giant babies again while the cameras roll and they immodestly expose themselves to the cameramen and the rest of the world, all the while preaching thrift and modesty. Just sick of these people.

Dannette said...

Cindy,

Actually I had wondered that about Jill.her feet were often filthy and we know on her wedding day they were for sure. She was running around all over the place like an immature 8 year old , tearing down the aisle wearing no shoes, going outside etc.

Her hair did look clean on her wedding day but a lot of times it looks dirty.

Maybe Derick is just following her lead.

Carole Lee said...

How sterile can it be to give birth in their own homes? I'm thinking of the toilet birth in that little bathroom with the camera crew jammed in there recording. How horribly embarrassing for Anna and unsanitary for the newborn. I remember Ben holding just born Spurge in a brown towel, like they didn't have a nice clean blanket ready. Hospitals have procedures that prevent infection. What a bloody mess in Jessa's house if she had to be rushed to the hospital to stop the bleeding. This home birthing with no medical person present is insane. And so we wait to see what will happen to Jessa this time.

Just sayin said...

After Jesse, Jill and Anna all had horrible, painful, long- drug-out and drug free labors and deliveries ( except Jillymuffins csec), you would think getting pregnant would be the LAST on these girls to-do list!!

Ruby said...

Just sayin, comments have been made in the past by the Duggar women about suffering in childbirth, etc almost like the more you suffer the more it shows how godly you are or something along those lines. It was quite bizarre. I think there is something cult-like and weird about their beliefs in natural childbirth.

Dawna said...

Carole Lee,

They thought they had a medical person helping with Jessa's delivery. Jill had
Skyped in from Central America to assist.

Then Jill who thinks she is an expert wailed that she couldn't believe this was happening to HER sister.

Pam said...

They had Miss Theresa for Jessa. She who has no midwifery license and has nearly killed several women and babies in NWA.

Conover said...

Women can bleed to death in a matter of minutes. If the baby needs emergency care to survive at birth, what can they do at home? Ben should step up like a man this time. He's got so much to say about many subjects as he lounges in his house posting on the internet so maybe he should use his brain for something important and insist his wife gets professional medical care.

Taryn said...

That is true about bleeding to death. My neighbor delivered her third and last child. She was beaming and felt great when the nurse looked alarmed and ask her how she felt. As she was saying she felt great all of a sudden she was notadrift rushed her into emergency surgery. Had she not been there and had not had a well trained nurse paying close attention she would have died. I got that 2:00 am text asking everyone to pray as it didn't look good for awhile.

This is why it scares me the way the Duggars act so clueless about what could happen as they fly by the seat of their pants.

I certainly do not want any of them to be harmed. I still feel sorry for poor little Anna and what she was forced to go through.

Taryn said...

Maybe Jana has seen way too much of the way Duggar women are expected to just deal with the agony of childbirth over and over and would rather be forced to be a servant than an indentured servant AND a brood mare, too.

Heart in Florida said...

If anyone here remembers, why did Jessa bleed like that after delivering Spurge? Did her uterus rip? Something must have tore. Thanks for refresher.

Margie said...

I agree that Jana just might be happy not to be submitting daily to an arranged marriage husband and having to painfully home birth babies as she has witnessed her horror her sisters endured. Could she actually be the rebellious one by not agreeing to marry some man chosen by her dad interrogated with the stupid questions such as, what flavor cake do you like? Jana has settled into her safe little world, secure in the knowledge she is pure enough to go to heaven. Her life is really not that difficult since the kids are not being kept to any schedule, sleeping on the floors wherever they drop obviously not being supervised to brush teeth or washing first or complete homework as in normal households. She dumps cans & frozen packages into pots for dinner and there is not much clean up since they eat on paper plates. I bet a team of cleaners secretly arrives once a week to do the major cleaning and the younger ones do the laundry since grandma escaped the compound. So her life is not that bad. Obviously somehow over the years, the thought of loving a man has been eliminated from her desires, how and why we will never know.

Let's hope, for the new babies sake, that Jessa and Jill have the common sense to give them solid names. Israel was a good name but Spurgeon?? I cringe every time I hear it. An older name from the Bible would be fine or something trendy. Just find a normal name.

Misty said...

The girls have common sense they would be birthing the babies safely in a hospital and not risking their lives and that of the newborns. They do not have to bother to use their brains as we hear they are "wonderful followers" and do only as their leaders tell them.

I believe that right now Benboy & Jessa are trying to discover the most unusual and controversial name to garner all sorts of views and comments in order to bring them $$$$.
It's all about money. Stick the kid with a weird and embarrassing name for the rest of his life.....if it gives you immediate money. That is what the Duggar world is all about and the children have learned that begging and promoting themselves brings them cash without working.
Just look at healthy and young Ben. He has caught on rather quickly on how to live a life of leisure. And do not think Jeremy isn't working to be on the gravy train too. I predict it is just a matter of months before his scheme to be famous and have the $$$ is in full gear.

Heart in Florida said...

From a recent photo that I have seen of Jill, she's huge again. I think she REALLY needs to see a real OB/GYN this time so they can monitor the size of JILL and the projected size of this child and prepare for a proper delivery based on their findings. After all, the Lord did put properly trained professionals in our lives to help us here on Earth.

Pattycake said...

Members of certain "churches" have let their babies and kids die instead of getting them treatment. Some parents have gone to prison over it. So, when Jill puts her babies at risk she should be held accountable.

I do not know how the Duggar girls tolerate the pain for 24 hour or however long the labor.
Now, the 2nd time around, they have to go to a hospital on their own, no matter what Jimbob says or how weak Ben is or over the edge wacky as Dillard seems to be. I saw a video where Jessa, at 11 hours of labor, is begging to go to a hospital. What cruelty of others kept her home and in wild pain, risking her life and the baby's for another 14 hours? I call it abuse.

jenniegirl. said...

What the Duggars will do for publicity!!! They will risk the life of a baby and young mother and under Jimbob's direction, women will suffer incredible pain and bleeding for the sake of a TLC filming. Jimbob was such a wimp in one of the episodes regarding a needle and giving blood but he is just fine with a young daughter pulling a 9 lb first baby out of her body without medical help or pain relief. This entire situation is disgusting !!

Detest the Duggar ilk said...

Oh, my goodness. I wasn't aware that Jessa was begging to go to the hospital and they didn't take her. Many of us wondered why in the world Jessa was smiling as she was taken to the ambulance. Stay sweet, Jessa.

Don't forget poor Anna was forced to suffer. And later the script called for her to bug her vile husband for another baby.

There are numbers to call for child abuse and elder abuse but what about all of the horrors documented by TLC? Jim Bob keeps them captive and they must endure whatever that jerk decides.

Hildy said...

Yes, in the video Jessa speaks of having had endured enough pain after 11 hours of labor and begging to go the hospital for an epidural. Obviously she was ignored for the next even more painful 13 hours of labor, trapped in suffering, until she somehow got that huge baby out of her birth canal, but tearing herself up at the same time, enough to loose so much blood as to need transfusions. This scene is beyond cruel. I just can't get my mind around watching a loved one endure pain after pain for 24 hours when relief is down the street at the hospital. Thinking back to an experience I had When my daughter had kidney stones which they say is as painful as labor, I made it my mission to get her pain relief at the hospital ASAP. How could Ben just watch his little wife suffer for so long? How cheap is Jimbob that he couldn't spring for an epidural? How zoned out can Michelle be?

Jim Bob didn't want to see his bank account go down by even $1, so Jessa could just tough it out!

According to Webster's, here is the definition of DEFRAUD:cheat, cozen, defraud, swindle mean to get something by dishonesty or deception. cheat suggests using trickery that escapes observation . cozen implies artful persuading or flattering to attain a thing or a purpose . defraud stresses depriving one of his or her rights and usually connotes deliberate perversion of the truth . swindle implies large-scale cheating by misrepresentation or abuse of confidence .
This has nothing to do with showing too much skin but is about cheating others out of money, such as Jimbob & Derrick do in so many ways .Derrick defrauds people out of their hard earned money with his fake missionary work. Jimbob defrauds anyone he can by begging for free goods, food, trips & services when he has millions in the bank. Their misuse of "defraud" shows the Duggar's lack of education and command of the English language. Why not just use the word "tempt" regarding someone dressed inappropriately.

five eighths said...

Hildy, I hear you. Jessa is clearly still tied to her mommy's apron strings as evidenced by how much time she spends at the homestead and not at her own home. She and Ben are very much beholden to Jim Bob as he pays Ben to be a stay-at-home man-child. Ben needs to grow a pair, get off his soft rear end and get his wife and baby proper medical care this time around. Honestly, he is such a sheltered,, aimless brainless "kid".

Ellie On a Roll said...

Jessa needs to actually LIVE in her own house. With all the time she spends at her parents' house no wonder her house needs to be cleaned....she's never there to do her own housework and laundry. Lazy girl...with a "child" husband who isn't equipped yet to stand on his own two feet, even with an associates degree. They should be living on their own and Jessa needs to stay OUT of her parents' house. No need to be there every day.

Meme said...

Heart in Florida, I so agree about Jessa. Most young women her age are excited about moving OUT of the house. Going off to college or getting that first apartment or first job is such an exciting part of a girl's life. Achieving goals like graduation or a job promotion contributes to a young woman's self-confidence and maturity. What a sincere shame that Jessa's #1 goal in life is to give birth to twins. It's all she can imagine for herself, all that she is ALLOWED to imagine. Having a family is a wonderful thing, don't get me wrong. But why is it the ONLY thing? If Jana never marries will she be forced to stay and live in the compound forever?

Heart in Florida said...

Yes, Jana will have no choice but to continue to live in her parents' house if she never marries. She will continue to be the cook, housekeeper, landscaper and babysitter for her siblings' children all of her life. She also has been INSTRUCTED by her parents AND BY GOD (in their belief system) that she must be content if this is the way her life goes as refusing to perform these tasks and want something else for herself, other than marriage, is a sin and she will be separated from God for all eternity and from her parents and family in this life. I think that is outright emotional and spiritual blackmail. Her parents should hang their heads in shame for the narrow limits they have given their children, all of them.
Jessa really doesn't know how to be an adult in her own right. She has married a man/child in Ben and she is still quite dependent on her nuclear family in many ways. She has made no emotional separation from her parents' life and household that I could see. She also "dreams of twins" because she saw her mother have twins and have many sibling helpers to do all the work. She believes she will have the same, most likely in Jana and the younger sisters. She for one moment doesn't think that she will have to do the work herself. Ben also seems to always be at home and he will be the chief diaper changer and cook at her house while trying to figure out what he will really do with his professional life, if he ever has one away from the Duggars, which I doubt. Jessa is an empty bag of wind and has a lot of nerve being a bitch to those around her as she is quite dependent on them and is a fraud in her own right because she doesn't know how to stand on her own feet as a twenty-something wife and almost mother of 2 herself. I highly doubt that she knows how to write a check or balance a checking account. She can't cook either.

Elle said...

Heart in Florida said regarding Jessa " I highly doubt that she knows how to write a check or balance a checking account. She can't cook either."

Probably never had any reason to. If they had their own money they wouldn't need to hang around Jim Bob.

Speaking of money....Didn't Michelle once have all the kids from the very little to the older ones and she spouted off for the camera something about bankruptcy, like she thought she was a college professor lecturing college students, instead of kids of all ages.

And why would they ever need to know about bankruptcy in that family if Daddy pays cash for everything. Good grief.

Aunt Bea said...

Michelle has gone on camera saying that she trains her daughters to be good homemakers and mothers. Homemakers pay household bills, go to the bank and perform transactions, and reconcile accounts as well as cook, clean, wash clothes etc. From what I can tell her married daughters so far don't know how to do any of those things. What did she train them for? Michelle has failed to do HER job.

Aunt Bea: So true about Michelle. I remember when my FIL got upset at my (housewife) MIL for going to the bank to educate herself about their financial situation. Then he died and she didn't know how to adjust. Michelle would be LOST and would probably expect Josh or John David to fill her husband's shoes. She is an avoider. She avoids work, relationships, her children, etc. It's so interesting that she actually thinks she has trained her daughters to be good wives and mothers. Um...what? Since when is she a mother, other than the first few months before the next new baby came? Those girls know nothing.

It's so sad to think that Michelle can't take credit for anything to do with her children.

When in India, Jimbob criticized Derricks looks to Jill, so that tells what he thought of Derrick, so superficial. Perhaps Derrick suffers great pain to this day from the surgery and is acting out by going overboard with looking weird to aggravate Jimbob out of anger toward him. Anyway, the guy looks terrible, like he has a fatal disease and is now behaving in a weird way. Poor little Jill, stuck with him for life, forced to be available to this strange man whenever and now having another baby. I truly feel sympathy for Jill. She did not ask for this life but was told what she has to do, first by her dad and now by this changing man she finds herself married to.

Grandma Wagner said...

What man walks around in his house wearing a cowboy hat? Even cowboys only put them on when outdoors working and we know Derrick isn't rounding up cattle on the Duggar ranch.
Last we saw of Dillard outdoors in Duggarland, he was sledding in the snow toward a cat!! This entire family is in need of mental help. Jill has looked like she's on the verge of a nervous breakdown with any mention of going back to CA. Ben lives lazy in lalala land without the thought of a job. Is Josh hiding out in shame..no word about him anymore? The other boys do nothing once they graduate from Duggar University except jigsaw puzzles, helping daddy and making a kill the kiddies video. Being available, then pregnancy tests and home birthin' are the only interests of the girls. Nice job, Jimbob & Michelle !! What a WONDERFUL family.

Heart in Florida said...

Still no word from the Dillards as to when they are returning to Central America, OR if they are returning at all. This is fishy to me. Jill was frantically trying to conceive D2 so she'd have an excuse to stay in the USA. Now that she's announced her real mission in life, she doesn't look very happy to be anticipating child #2. Is it me, or does she seem not so excited? Something is off with those two and we'll see or hear soon enough what's going on over there.
TLC, yet again in this episode, captioned he guest house as Jill and Derick's house. It's NOT their house.

Willow said...

Not to take up for TLC, but I don't think they are trying to say Jill and Derick OWN the house, just where they are living right now. Ben and Jessa don't OWN their house, Jeremy and Jinger don't OWN their apartment. Josh and Anna did not OWN their house in Maryland, but they just referred to Josh and Anna's house as to identify where they were/are at the moment, same with the other couples.

Allisson said...

Jimbob is the one who owns everything. He likes to be in control of his adult children's lives, right down to their sex lives. So no, the kids own nothing, don't have jobs and have to do exactly what Jimbob says in order to have survival money coming from him.

Dana Alton said...

No Heart....the Dillards seem unhappy. He's reportedly has some puking disease, hence the great weight loss, and Jill might have an artery issue. Off they went to make believe they are kids again with the very stupid Pisol Pete thing and him wearing a cowboy hat in the house. How about getting a job, Dillard, and not begging for donations to enable your looser life style?

Missy said...

Jill seems to be very big already and she isn't due until July. I hope that she has some sense not to attempt a vaginsl home birth after Israel's botched birth which turned into an emergency c section. Her ignorance could kill both her and her baby and leave Israel motherless.

Lynise Wolf said...

Derrick prob had to have orthonathic surgery. That includes breaking the jaw an re aligning it. With that said your mouth is wired shut for weeks HELLO weight loss. Reason for surgery upper lower Jaws poss did not line up. So now he's on road to recovery with braces to center teeth. Good luck Derrick

Aunt Bea said...

Lynise Wolf: How could Derick have been medically cleared to have his jaw wired shut for weeks is he's had this vomiting condition since high school? How would he have expelled any vomit with his teeth clenched together? Doesn't add up to me. Also, by now, he SHOULD have gained back most of the weight he lost from surgery.
On another note, my suspicions are that the Dillards will return in April for Joy's wedding and remain here for the duration of the summer. I'd like to have a 'full time/calling job' like they do and work the actual hours and months they seen to. More time off than anything and living on the donations of others and a free house with a pool from daddy.

Aunt Bea said...

After Anna's bombshell was set off, does anyone care that Jill is pregnant and in Central America hiding in the bathroom?

Aimee said...

Sweet Heavens! It took her 40 hours of labor to realize she needed a c-section (AGAIN!!) I would think she could have just scheduled one after last time with Isreal and it could have been a much more pleasant ordeal. Big baby, previous long labor, previous c-section most any ob would have agreed that a planned section would be the way to go.

Linda said...

What is shows me is that Jill is completely incompetent as a midwife, she probably still doesn't know how to calculate the length of labor properly, she's a nit wit and that isn't ever changing, and she wasn't receiving proper prenatal care.

Aunt Bea said...

I would think that with this C-section; Jill will be told in no uncertain terms to shut down the baby making factory. How many can a woman endure? Does anyone know out there?

Linda said...

It apparently depends on the individual. Some people are told it's dangerous after two and others can go on to have five or six c-sections. The doctors can tell a lot about the condition of the abdomen and uterus while they are in there.

Elizabeth Ann said...

Just crazy that no one in the family decided to bring Jill to the hospital when she appeared to be in labor for a long time allowing 40 hours of labor with a previous C-section. Words cannot describe the stupidity of Jill, Derrick & all others involved supposedly cherishing the "blessing" yet risking the baby & ignorant Jill, herself a midwife.

Amanda said...

With each section your risk of complications goes up, but it's still a relatively safe operation and I've known two different women with four complication free c sections each, so it's possible. Attempting a vbac isn't unreasonable. I suspect Jill has uncontrolled gestational diabetes. Babies that large are very difficult to deliver vaginally and it could be caused by uncontrolled diabetes. Of course, it could also be genetics... none of us are viewing her charts so it's pure speculation. If I were her provider I would insist on a diabetes test and regardless of the results she should watch her sugars. I wish her the best. Source: I trained as a midwife and have delivered many babies, and my husband is a Dr.

Andrea said...

Amanda said... "With each section your risk of complications goes up." I'd agree. 5 months ago I went into hospital completely healthy for my third c-section. It went terribly wrong and I ended up with life threatening blood loss. My very gifted OB was pretty surprised. No one thinks a perfectly healthy women goes in for a c-section and nearly dies. I would be very surprised if Jill has more than four kids. I kind of feel badly for her. She's been told her entire life "children are a gift from God," Children give women purpose, etc. and now she won't have the mega family she would have hoped for.

Sacramento Chic said...

Perhaps God IS speaking to Jill. That megafamily she seems to always have wanted isn't something she's cut out to handle. Perhaps this should be IT for her. How can she manage a passel of children in and out of airports the way this family travels from CA to the USA at every turn?

Wendy Heusel said...

That is why Jill will never see a doctor most will tell you three is the limit these people have no insurance so they want to do it for free

Jak&Jil said...

I have to agree with everyone that Jill must not be that smart since she seems to have learned absolutely nothing after her first labor and C-section. Again, doesn't anyone in that family have any common sense? Derick just sits there and watches his wife labor for 40 hours AGAIN without concern? Who and when decided it was time to go to the hospital? And what do you think the doctors and nurses say to her when she shows up at the hospital asking for help after not receiving any pre-natal care. Gee Jill, maybe next time you should think about being under the care of a REAL doctor and listen to him/her so this crisis won't be repeated a third time.

KathyM said...

I don't understand these people. 40 hours and then figure out to go to the hospital? and this is not the first time they have done this. Is this waiting so long doing home birthing supposed to make them look strong or supermomish? The stupidity. They have been lucky so far that nobody has died.

glass dishes said...

Even if Doctors tell Jill at some point enough is enough for the sake of her health, she will keep on.

Hildy said...

Shocking that she was in labor for 40 hours which translates to no pain relief, not eating or sleeping for that length of time. I find it difficult to believe. Also how could Derick not have taken her for a medical evaluation after some hours considering her need for a C = section with Israel. It's almost like she brags about enduring suffering.

Linda said...

I still don't believe Jill was in actual labor for 40 hours. As someone elsewhere on the internet said, she counted from losing her mucous plug or her water breaking not from actual labor. Jim Bob's precious Jillie who goes hysterical over a shower rod couldn't take 40 hours of labor.

Genna Glouster said...

Amazing how dumb the entire Duggar family is. Jessa almost bled to death, Jill had an emergency c section and now they let Jill stay at the house for 40 hours in labor. Were they not afraid a home birth could cause a tear in her uterus due to the previous c section?

Aunt Bea said...

Well, it took God to shut down Michelle's delivery business, didn't it? I fear the same will be for Jill; something supernatural will have to happen for her to 'stop' conceiving and botching her deliveries. I just hope no baby suffers for that ill advised decision.

Meme said...

No ginormous family for Jill? Guess Jessa wins.

Emma said...

Derick posted a picture of baby Samuel hooked up to heart and breathing monitors and an iv, it is obviously just after he has been born, and baby is screaming while Derick grins. While we cannot be sure if these are precautionary measures or not it appears serious enough. I really think they post these photographs on purpose as they know they will rile people up and get a reaction, which it definately has done. Could they not have just posted baby has arrived given details of weight etc and posted a less dramatic picture later when everything has settled? Jill obviously laboured for a long time, once again putting herself and her baby at risk, if she had proper ante natal care no doctor would have advised her to try for a VBAC at home or allowed labour to go past 10-12 hours. These young women insist on using 'midwives'(as a nurse I use that word loosely) with no degree, no hospital or emergency training and something bad is going to happen. The midwife Jill trained under has already been in trouble for botching a delivery, if something happened to one of the Duggar girls at the hands of one of these midwives you can bet your bottom dollar they would sue for negligence, they know the risks yet for some reason they go with them again and again. We keep hearing the husbands are leaders in their homes, if Derick is the authority in his home he needs to step up with their next baby and insist Jill goes to the hospital to deliver, if he doesn't he is as guilty if something happens as Jill will be. It is also strange that there was no mention of how Jill was following delivery, no 'mother is tired but recovering', or mother doing well, the radio silence is concerning, I hope Jill is ok, no matter what we think of the Duggars, Dillard et al I don't think any of us would want anything bad to happen to any of them or their babies.

The picture of him is too much! Why on earth did the Duggars share that?! No one needed to see a picture that quickly after the baby was born. Also, the announcement on People.com came early in the afternoon and his time of birth was noted as 1:02 pm. Did they call People Magazine the moment he arrived? Why can they not let anything be special or personal or private? I do hope that when Jinger and Joy have their children that they allow them more privacy and consideration than their siblings have.

Strange that the one person who was so insistent on becoming a midwife, because home deliveries are the best, has herself ended up in a hospital where there are clean beds, Dr.s & nurses to wait on her & most of all pain medication for each labor & delivery. I don't believe she had any professional prenatal care at all. If she did they would have known how big the baby was & if there was going to be any problems with the delivery. Nobody really knows how long she actually did labor at home. We have to remember that "occasionally," the Duggars & all have been known to twist the truth. I will always believe that Anna should have had a C-section with Michael, but of course she's not a Duggar by blood, only by marriage. I don't think any professional knew how big Michael was. He had an extremely large head & they would have known that she would have had a very difficult delivery.I'll bet Jill didn't suffer the way Anna did.

bitsy said...

I saw the photo with monitors hooked up to him. I feel the baby was stressed during a long labor with now prenatal care so the doctors are taking no chances with him, making sure the child is okay. Last time we saw photos of Jill directly after the birth but not this time.
Every time I see a photo of Derick, I like him less and less. He seems heartless.

Hannah said...

I can't believe the doctors are not telling Jill what a foolish thing she did to endure 40 hours of labor after her previous c section and advice about more pregnancies but of course advice goes into a deaf ear with these Duggars as they know more, are so above others.

For the first time ever I actually feel sorry for Jill. It may not be based on reality, but she really believes that she has the answer to life. She really believes that it is all that easy, and that one size fit all applies to everyone and that she has that black and white answer to life. She tried so hard to force these babies out of herself to show us that having a baby at home is easy, and that she is so blessed by God that she had a honeymoon baby. Now all of the Kool Aid she drank, she's finding that there is no one size answer. You can't make Catholics convert just because you say it's the right thing, you can't show up late and have the world wait, you can't have a home birth just because you want to. Now maybe she can open her eyes and see what she married, and what life style she signed up for. Maybe now she can change the reality she grew up with, into one that is really good for her and her family.

Remember Jill was told she had narrowing of her artery to her heart? How smart was it to stress herself out with 40 hours of labor useless labor at home? The huge baby looks like a 3 month old in the photo, screaming with wires attached to him and there has been no photo or word about Jill. We can't judge the situation by the creepy smile on Derick's face since he is looking more mentally ill with each photo.

Mickey2942 said...

Well, there would not be any drama factor for the show, if the woman went to a hospital. Much more drama to watch hours of labor at home, and an emergency run to the hospital.

This "reality" show is planned and "scripted" to the nth degree.

Putting young women's lives in danger is part of the drama.

Andrea said...

Derick the narcissist? The photo of his newborn baby hooked up to machines and monitors and him smiling. I can't help but see something sinister in it all. On the one hand, it could be seen as a proud Dad happy to meet his son, but on the other hand it's actually a raving fame whore happy to meet his newest income earner. That photo taken for ones own private viewing would be totally fine but posting for the world to see with a watermark is in very, very bad taste. If you look, a gloved hand is off to one side. I'd love to know what the nursing staff thought of dumb and dumber. Can you imagine saying: "Nurse, I know you're working on my ill baby, but could you move your hand out of the shot? I'd like to update my instagram." What a twat.

Andrea said...

Interesting . . . Jill hasn't updated her instagram feed yet. Wonder why? Oh let me guess, it's because she's actually quite ill and therefore not online at the moment. Here's hoping she has learned her lesson and she's out of the baby making business for a few year or her lifetime.

Mary said...

hi

If Jilly does not give birth to any more babies I am sure she will want to adopt. It will never be a child from CA I wonder who will give them a child without anyone working. I wonder if they are on Obama care? I hope they have no insurance this will be a big hit to bank account

stupidsidehugs said...

These fools take healthy children for granted. If a tragedy occurred there would be another lawsuit of course. Duggars are blameless, even acts of monumental stupidity are someone else's fault. They see pain in childbirth as a direct result of Eve's disobedience,so long tortuous labour just confirms the punishment that women actually caused themselves. Its just logic to them. Watching a dearly loved daughter, daughter in law,or hell even a total stranger go through absolute agony for hours would break my heart.

Re Derrick smiling with the baby hooked up...

This made me think of my last child who was born with a defect that was not compatible with life without surgery. (She had surgery and is fine now) As soon as she was stable, the nurses had my husband and I take pictures that first night. They even strong armed my husband into having his pictures taken with her every day prior to surgery while I was not at that hospital yet.

I have to wonder if maybe something is really wrong with this baby or Jill? Remember when Josie was born and Jim Bob was so happy and proud showing her off saying that she was perfect in every way? They really see these as tests and gifts from God. They have to stay sweet and positive no matter the situation.

betsy said...

Hoping Jill is okay. Strange there is no word from her like last birth, sitting in the hospital bed soon hours after Israel was born. Derick better have the common sense not to get Jill pregnant again. Headship wacko Derick in control of her very life at this point and that is scary considering the creepy big smile he had standing next to his monitored with many wires, screaming new baby.

Meme said...

Does Derick remind anyone else of Jimbob Smuggar? The attention grabbing, puffing-out-his-chest-cause-he's-a-dad-again, younger version of his father-in-law? It took Josie's near death for Jim Bob to realize that high risk pregnancies sometimes result in disaster. He was so shocked and devastated. It was very moving, yet surprising that he was so stunned. Had he really never considered that such a thing could happen to an older mother? Even more surprising, though, was the effect it had on Michelle. Did she decide "no more children" or "maybe we should at least slow down"? Nope. She set her mouth, dug in her heels and proclaimed that "she would do it all again, even if what happened to Josie happened again." Interpretation: THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE BABIES. IT IS ABOUT ME AND WHAT I WANT. Michelle was completely crazed at the time. She had a different personality when she was pregnant, the baby talk was in overdrive. Her sentences always ended in "this baby". (I'm gonna walk every day on the treadmill to be healthy for this baby. Jim Bob needs to get the house finished in time for this baby. All the kids are so thrilled about this baby). Then she wanted nothing to do with the newborn after a few months. Can we say mental illness, boys and girls?
It will be interesting to see if Jill decides to tempt fate like Michelle did. Maybe Derick will just follow along like Jim Bob.

Re: Various comments about why did the Duggars share pictures of the baby hooked up to monitors & machines? Why wouldn't they? Remember what they showed with Jubilee? Her hand in Michelle's hand, her foot. Then fill the church with people, TLC cameras, magazines crews & show it all. What should have been a private, intimate, family affair, was put out there for anyone who had access to a TV, social media, or a magazine to gawk at. It wouldn't surprise me if the Dillards were already packing up to return to CA. I wonder if those children have the inoculations usually required to travel out of the country? We have never seen them have a well baby check-up. The only time we saw a well baby check-up was when Michelle took Josie for hers. Michelle went into great lengths to explain to the viewers, just what a well baby check-up was. I guess she didn't think any mothers out here even knew what one was. Although she also said Josie was having a well baby check-up due to being a micro preemie. If she hadn't been a preemie would she have gone for that check-up? We never saw Jordyn or any of the others go for theirs. So no it doesn't surprise me in the least that they would show any pictures of the baby hooked up to monitors. It's another case of look at us, how we suffer, with 40 hours of labor. How do we know it was 40 hours of labor? The baby would probably be hooked up to monitors anyway due to the stress of a C-section & not necessarily any 40 hr. labor. You see many babies who are C-section babies hooked up to monitors following the birth. Let's just say you can't take what the Dillards & Duggars say, as Gospel Truth!

Even if the doctor who performed her c-section advised her to stop having children, or at least only having 1 or 2 more, does anyone think she would listen?? She is only in her 20's, what would they do about birth control for the next 20 years?

Gen said...

My first thought reading the comments about at risk pregnancy was really, really mean: Given how they milked Jubilee's death for all it was worth, imagine the drama if one of the daughter's died in child birth? Of course I don't wish that on anybody, but they way they keep putting themselves at risk even though it's becoming fairly clear that childbirth is not easy for them I wouldn't be surprised if some bad happened.

stupidsidehugs said...

No pics of her yet and no word as to how she is. Something isn't right.

So Foolish said...

Jill shouldn't need a Dr. or nurse or anyone else in the medical profession to tell her how foolish, or just plain stupid a 40 hr. labor was, if indeed it was a 40 hr. labor. I have my doubts about that. After all, at one point in time she was supposedly a licensed midwife. Now just who would want this midwife giving them advise on how their labor was progressing? She appeared shocked when she learned that Jessa was rushed to the hospital after Spurgeon's birth, due hemorrhaging, even though she was on standby, assisting with the delivery was over the internet from CA. If she can't even tell that she has a major problem requiring skilled medical care & surgery, you have to wonder what the Dr.'s & nurses were thinking to themselves. It wouldn't surprise me if she was sitting there, after being made comfortable by pain medication, telling them how she is a midwife & has delivered many babies, so she knew what she was doing. People arrive at the emergency room all the time, after having treated themselves for major medical problems that almost cost them their lives. Add to that a young woman who has required an emergency C-section only shortly over a yr. before & you have a life threating situation for both mother & baby.

Tatiana L. said...

What's going on with Jill?? No word from her or photos with her & the new baby is concerning.

Aunt Bea said...

Israel was born after a longer reported labor and was an emergency C-section. He has no oxygen, leads, etc. after birth. We saw a photo of him right after he was born. Samuel, however, after 40 hours of labor and another C-section is photographed with medical interventional devices hooked up to him. I think there's another situation going on here with little Samuel, so sorry to say. This boy, I'm sure will be as cute as little Izzy, but they both have idiots for parents. Heaven help THEM.
I also remember seeing a picture of Jill, right away and we haven't seen hide nor hair of her. I do hope nothing serious is going on with her.
So, Duggars, SOMETIMES artificial birth control COULD be a good thing and not a thing of the devil. If a physician plainly tells a woman in Jill's situation to shut down the birthing machine for her own health and safety, wouldn't that be for a very good cause? Not an evil one, after all.
