Regarding weight comments in the April thread, it bothers me when one of the DUggar females tries to lose weight. Joy Anna looked fine before. I recall fans saying how great John David looked after losing weight.None of them need to lose weight.
It's also day Joy sees herself as a mom five years from now-no plans for college, travel, or even to pursue new hobbies.

Numerous photos over many days of the entire Duggar clan on yet another family vacation. My question is, exactly when do these children homeschool? It has been a long time since we have seen any photographic evidence or otherwise of any significant education taking place. Between preparing for numerous trips, cleaning up and organizing after the trip and wedding planning, the younger children have been lost in the shuffle.

Mchlmybelle said...

Please, people, these families are not in the real world.. AMEN

123 said...

Mchmybelle, true enough. They are in their own special time warp on their very own planet. They have isolated themselves so much and twisted the Bible almost beyond recognition to the point that that I truly believe they have hit cult status.

123 said: "(W)hen do these children homeschool?" I think even before the Duggars were famous school wasn't a priority. It was something Michelle did with them to fill the day, but wasn't actually strenuous or intellectually rigorous. It's pretty clear, the Duggar kids have been robbed of an education. I would be very surprised if the little Duggar's are receiving any formal education at this point.

Duggarsbegone said...

And unfortunately, that probably includes Tyler.

Opie said...

Tyler is required to attend public school? I thought that was part of the deal. The other kids seem to only have "school" if they are on camera. Counting On does not feature the young ones. I am glad we do not see them much anymore. They are hard to watch.

Emma said...

I think the Bates value education far more than the Duggars. I know they are up to their necks in the same cult and promote all the patriarcy crap, but quite a few of their kids have gone on to third level education. Kelly jo is a collge graduate, not sure if Michelle finished high school( but she still dots her i's with little hearts like a 10 yo) but I do think the Bates kids got a better grounding. Those that have attended college have gone to Crown college, which isn't great as its a fundie school with some strange rules, but its better than the no school the Duggars get. The Bates kids have had the chance to develop some useful skills that can earn them some money, Erin for example teaches piano and has made a couple of CD's. I know she works from home but I won't knock her for it, unlike the Duggar daughters she at least contributes to her own families income. The Duggars have educationally crippled not only their own kids but future generations who will be homeschooled by educationally stunted parents, each generation getting a more diluted education than the one before. It really does amount to abuse, the kids do not realise it now, but they might in years to come when the money is all gone.

"Counting On" now filming FIFTH season? Is this correct? I literally cannot believe that this family has fans that watch them. Watching paint dry would be more interesting.

How longo will the love affair with the Duggars last on TLC. Enough already. Wow, a family of grifters, who do nothing but pray, marry, breed, repeat. Boring.

Aunt Bea said...

I agree that from the get go, these children never received any kind of quality education from Michelle. These kids were too busy every day doing house work, child rearing and cooking, vehicle maintenance, and yard work to have much time at all for real school. Their excuse was that these 'chores' WERE education in themselves. I'm sorry for these poorly educated and non-aware, now adults who will have to try to get along in the real world, for this TV show and it's income won't last forever. Their parents are still relatively young and their inheritance,, split 19 ways won't arrive for some time yet. What till they do?

Duggarsbegone said...

There was never anything said about Tyler having to attend public school.

Opie said...

Very true. When you get up in the afternoon there is little time for school. I think the real reason the kids are not allowed to go to a real school is that the parents are too lazy to get them there and back.

Peaches said...

Joy Anna's wedding date hasn't been announced, but some people have said October. I think it will be no later than June. All the other Duggar girls have gotten married within 3 months of engagement and that was March. Anyone have any ideas?
Do they think that not announcing a date makes us want to watch the show? I don't get the reasoning they use. After her wedding we will have Jill give birth, Jessa probably pregnant with #3 and then Jinger pregnant, Joy Anna Pregnaant, jessa give birth, jinger give birth, etc, etc. The only thing that might save their show is if JANA got to have a life of her own.

Andrea said...

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but when does the next season start?

Meme said...

If I am remembering correctly, Michelle pretty much admitted that one reason they homeschooled their kids was because it was so much easier to keep everyone at home. Her lazy tail couldn't be bothered with annoyances like breakfast, backpacks, clean clothing, etc. Little Michelle (Anna) is following in her hero's footsteps. I'd bet that Anna can't do 6th grade math. Yet she is homeschooling her children. Picture this bunch ten years from now when most of the money is gone. There will be dozens of children running around the compound. Everyone illiterate and unemployed. The sons and sons-in-law won't even have Jim Bob's gift for wheeling dealing. I'd hate to know that I had to depend on Ben to support my 19 children one day. John David might do okay due to his handyman abilities, but as for the rest? Lotsa luck.

Jenny said...

Re:roddma's comments about Joy having no plans or college, travel or new hobbies. Why should she? None of her sisters have gone that route & the remaining ones won't either. As a matter of fact, none of the boys seem to have any ambition towards even new hobbies. Same thing different day. Besides Joy will be busy working along side her headship, the one that admires her work ethic, at his family's campground while pregnant or nursing a baby. Maybe she can borrow that sling thing Michelle used on the float at Dollywood to nurse her baby while she goes about her days work. I hate to sound so mean, as I have always liked Joy, until Michelle completely changed her personality but that's the way it works in the Duggar's world.

Just Me said...

Re:123's comment. Yes just when do the Duggar children do their "school" as Michelle refers to it, not their schoolwork. We have never actually seen them reading aloud on their own or doing math, history or geography, or any other subjects. We've never seen any art work but of course they are all experts when it comes to their musical ability. If they do study anything & that's a big "if" it's only the "Wisdom Books." I wonder what's in the Wisdom Books anyway? Guess we can assume whatever it is, it's Duggar approved educational material, & that is certainly not science. When does Jana find the time to be teaching the kids anyway? Didn't their tutor up & left to get married.

A car was stolen from Josh's car lot...

Josh forgot to take down a guy’s driver’s license, before he let him take the Toyota MR2 for a test drive! The guy drove away with the car and never returned!

A salesmen at the dealership was talking to the alleged offender before the theft occurred and noticed a gun, a Ruger 22, on the seat. The salesman bought it off the customer for $70. According to a police report the gun was used in an aggravated assault earlier that day!

And the alleged perpetrator had initially arrived at the dealership in a stolen Dodge Ram from Oklahoma. http://radaronline.com/videos/josh-duggar-car-stolen-from-car-dealership-gun-buy-from-thief-police-report/

I don't think Jana has even homeschooled the kids. After Michelle's attempt, she passed it on to Jessa then hired Tabitha to live in and do it for her. Mary Duggar was on laundry detail, Jana had complete responsibility for the kitchen, cooking, cleaning up and child rearing. She shared the children with Jill and Jessa. Jinger packed for them if I remember. The boys took care of the yard, cars and household repairs. What the heck did Michelle EVER do but breed more children? No one seems to be able to answer that question for years because the answer is obvious to us all: NOTHING ALL DAY LONG. She was and is Jim Bob's full time 'buddy'.

123 said...

Just me, no art work, creative writing, reports or books either for reference, study or pleasure. These kids are receiving the most basic education with absolutely no love of learning. As far as the music goes, there may be some who have talent but it has been squashed. Their string playing is stiff, lacking both skill and emotion. Haven't they had a private teacher for years? The piano playing is aggressive with too much sustain pedal and banging. Their singing is terrifying; Joy sounds like a drone.

Just Disgusted. said...

To answer Aunt Bea. It was Jessa that always did the packing when they went on those trips. They never even rotated the job, she always did it. As much as I dislike Jessa, it was a huge job for one person. Michelle didn't even know if her children had enough underwear for the trip. For that matter she didn't know if she herself had enough underwear. Aunt Bea is absolutely correct Michelle's only job is to be Jim Bob's buddy. What a life Michelle lives.

Aunt bea, I think I remember Michelle or Jim Bob actually said that she is his his "buddy" on the show years ago. I might be wrong about that, but you are absolutely correct!

Aunt Bea said...

Just Disgusted; Yes, you are right. It was Jessa who packed for the whole family. I don't know what Jinger did, does anyone know her jurisdiction? Jana was never the homeschool teacher, she isn't now nor is she a parent or a student. Why did she, Josiah, JD and Joe go to this event at Big Sandy? Don't understand why then insist on traveling in one big pack all the time.

Can we go back a ways to when Jill, Michelle and Jim Bob were on tv blubbering about the safeguards in place against that madman in the house.

If I remember right they locked up the chicken house at night to keep the wolf away from the chickens.....no, wait ...I mean they locked the girls inside their room to keep Josh from prowling around at night and getting to them.

The scenario they paint sounds like once they got all the chicks...I mean girls inside they were in for the night.

However, they had talked about how they didn't have a bedtime. Since all girls were all shoved into one room when a tiny girl got sleepy did the girls collectively go to bed so the door could be locked the one time? Or did a chaperone escort the older girls up there one by one as they got tired, unlock the door and have them scurry in before Josh could weasel in?
At that time they had little girls along with the older ones.

The guy was down on his luck so I just gave him a car. said...

Too bad Josh couldn't be filmed. I'm sure he would have loved to have starred in an episode all about his used car dealership getting ripped off. He'd have tried to spin it into somehow being a hero.

Why does Jinger have to be PERMITTED to have an Instagram? By who, Jeremy? Did he ask her permission to have one too? This lopsided belief system is a disgrace. It does not protect females from being mistreated, it does the opposite. It give them no respect and controls them. These are 'child-women'.

Molly said...

Even if Jinger announced a pregnancy now, I think I would be okay with it. They married in November, so they did get 6 months of alone time, plus these months leading up to the birth. At least it wasn't a honeymoon baby....amazing in Duggar time.

Bird said...

Chickens locked up, I remember Michelle saying they didnt have a set bedtime, they basically dropped where they were well after 10 at night. I dont believe for one second any safeguards were used.

Victoria said...

I think the reason Grandma Duggar moved out to live with her daughter was because Josh and Anna needed a bedroom to themselves once Josh supposedly got back from "rehab" or whatever you want to call it.

I suspect that Josh and Anna's little ones are with the other children in the dorms, I mean, ahem, upstairs bedrooms. After all, Anna has to be "joyfully available" to Josh at all times.

Meme said...

Understood. Sorry Sharla!

Duggarsbegone said...

Not true. They had to pick a date for their registry so they chose October 28 because it is Joy's birthday. They, themselves, have said that day is NOT the real date of the wedding.

Linda said...

I think Grandma Mary went to stay with Deana to help her through the divorce.

Heart in Florida said...

I think Michelle was full of it when speaking about those safeguards 'in place' also. Perhaps they followed through on those things for a very short time, then abandoned them for the most part. This revelation about those safeguards were announced AFTER we found out their secret. I wonder if it was true. The evidence we have seen before this was revealed, was that the little kids were up at all hours, kept no real schedule for anything and dropped off late at night wherever they happened to be standing. This, is a contradiction yet again.

Ellie On a Roll said...

I'm wondering if Grandma Mary moving back to the Duggar compound (in her own house) is a sign that Michelle needs more help with the house, little kids and homeschooling than Jana can handle by herself. All the older, adult girls are grown and married (Joy any day now) except for Jana.

Ellie On a Roll said...

I can't help but feel sad for Joy. The way I see it, she has been forced to settle for a lot less than she could have done and had in life. I really don't feel she wants to truly be married for the rest of her life to Austin. I wonder if she'd dare speak up because I know I'd be calling off that engagement. The proposal episode was cringe worthy. The outdoors scene with them eating at a camp site. Ugh, just sad. I have a terrible feeling about this marriage.

Tori said...

Ellie on a roll, I wouldn't be at all surprised if what you say is true, and if it is it is a disgrace. Not sure what age Mary Duggar is but she shouldn't be standing in a laundry room all day, or looking after the howlers because mother of the year can't cope! I don't think she would be a pushover, and I don't picture her as the doting kind of grandmother but she still shouldn't be expected to be looking after the Duggars. There must be some alterior motive in JBs mind for this house. If its on his property what happens when grandma is no longer around, move Josh there or one of the other kids? He said in the past he wanted the kids to build homes on his property to keep them close, maybe this is the first one, time will tell.

Pen and paper said...

Do you think Josh's car thief asked for an autograph?

If Jim Bob had been there he would have chased after him to make sure he knew he was talking to the guy who had the #1 show on TLC and he and his joyfully available wife ...the former cheerleader who gave it all up for him....have 19 Kids....

And like he did in NYC he'd hand out a picture of his family to anyone who accidentally made eye contact.

Pen and paper said...

bree said...

Just thinking it through....

What if Jeremy, being her headship, starts working on Jinger and helps her realize her parents were so wrong...and they write a tell all book, make all the magazines, get paid to go on tv and expose them and
Later make the rounds receiving love offerings at every church? It could bring in a lot to live on for a very long time.

1. she would have to do what her husband says.
2. It could have been a well thought out plan as Everyone knew how unhappy Jonger was in that house of horrors, he quickly became a minister without any formal training and to get Kom Bob excited h he set up a church in a house with a few Mexicans. Then he made sure he connected with little Ben to get in with Jing.

Meme said...

It seems that Jim Bob and Michelle do things for self-serving reasons, so it may be that Mary Duggar is moving next door to help out again. All those children Michelle insisted on having still need care, and the dream team (Jill, Jessa, Jinger) is gone. Grandma will probably be in place in time for Joy's nuptials. Someone is always around to pick up the slack - Grandma, Anna, Sierra, etc.

I agree that Mary is not a pushover. She used to provide structured games for the kids and even participated in them. She was always the one instructing, like the time she helped Joy, who was making a mess of the snow ice cream. I cannot remember a time that Michelle ever interacted with her children. She always found a way to avoid them. Mary is the only Duggar adult who ever corrected or scolded the kids in front of the cameras. She did so in her quiet way, but she did it. No excuses about their energy or other nonsense. She just called them on their behavior. And now she's moving back. Sigh. Some grandmas never learn...

Special Ed Lady said...

Maybe he is moving Josh and Anna in her quarters.

Ellie On a Roll said...

Remember how annoying Jinger was calling Jeremy "Babe!" all the time? Well, I'm watching Bringing Up Bates and hear Tori calling Bobby "Baby!" repeatedly and it's like hearing fingernails on a chalkboard.

Nila said...

Safeguards, my eye. They were just given that word bt their PR team that tried to help them with the mess That had surfaced with Josh.

Their PR team probably said to just mention that you have safeguards in place. It was one of those big, exciting words like the word surreal that they learned when Derek waltzed onto the scene. Him being a college grad and all they knew they'd look more educated if they used it. By, George Michelle and Jill almost wore it out.

Then their word for the month was safeguard and Jim Bob, Michelle and Jill used it like it was a product : "we put in safeguards", made me laugh.

Willow said...

I am pretty sure Grandma Mary moved in with Deanna during her divorce as Amy was gone out of the home also. I always suspected Tabitha Paine got Mary's old bedroom, as they definitely showed Anna and her kids in the girls' dorm. I am curious now about Mary moving her old house onto Jim Bob's property. There are many possibilities. They sold her land out from under the house they said. Why? Someone (or JB) wanted the land but not the house. Since it was sentimental, they moved it back "home". I hope Mary actually gets to live there and not back in the Duggar main house. Someday, as mentioned by others, they will have an extra house there. I also would not be surprised if Deanna moved in there with Mary, athough that seems a less likely scenario. They could be thinking when Mary is older, there will be people around to help care for her. So many options. I'm just speculating about a few of them. Always so many curiosities involving the Duggar family. As far as Michelle goes, maybe after her meltdown, Jim Bob told her that if she just keeps on having the babies, he will get someone else to actually care for them. Maybe she negotiated.

Meme said...

Nila: word of the month...hilarious! Thanks.
Willow: Ooooh, remember the kindly old doctor who pretty much told Michelle that she was NOT a spring chicken anymore and that it was not a good idea to try & get pregnant at her advanced age (due to all the risks?) She did NOT appreciate that info. She gave the poor man a withering scowl. At the same time, though, she almost acted as if he was speaking a foreign language, like she was confused. Maybe she wasn't expecting the info he was giving her. Maybe she thought he would say something along the lines of, "well, there ARE risks involved...but you should just do whatever feels right to YOU." I dunno. Anyway, here is a question: does anyone believe that Michelle began (secretly) using birth control after that conversation? Or did her body just shut down the pregnancy cycle? Something to think about. I tend to believe that she did not use the birth control. But I also remember Jim Bob's concern, so I wonder if the sudden end of the pregnancies was really coincidental?

Aunt Bea said...

I remember that high risk obstetrician appointment episode very well. The doctor tried to use 'her fundy terms' as caught himself saying 'nature', then caught himself and rephrased by saying "God". She really didn't want to believe him because she could do all things through Christ, even conceive long after her old eggs have dried up if that's what the Lord wanted...NO, SHE wanted and still wants that.
Jim Bob seemed to understand the situation and was fine with it.

Tori said...

The Duggars were spotted in Kentucky at the bridal store, so Joys transfer of anthority must be coming soon. Someone here speculated June which might not be far off the mark. Married at nineteen and probably pregnant by twenty, Joy used to be so spunky, a real tomboy but she had the spirt trained out of her by Michelle. I remember the episode where Michelle stated it was time for her to stop playing with her brothers and be more ladylike, it was so sad, poor Joy had no choice but to conform. On a curious note I wonder if Sierra will be a bridesmaid, as she and Joy were 'besties' a while ago?

welby said...

Sierra is best friends with whomever the episode is about so she can get her mug on tv to collect a paycheck then boast that she is a stay at home mom.

She runs with her hair on fire to dream up another idiotic plot for that lame show. And since none of the Duggars can come up with anything but courting, proposal, engagement, dress shopping, shower, wedding, pregnancy announcement, birth, start again at pregnancy and begin again while the next kid is going through it.

welby said...

I don't get why people believe continuing to have babies was all Michelle's idea.

It is like saying, "She went out and got herself pregnant."

Nope. Jim Bob wants her joyfully available at all times so she is his buddy. They do not believe in birth control and he is all
over her, even in public places ( mini-golf ) yet somehow it went to leaving it up to God to people believing it is all Michelle controlling it.

What am I missing?

Aunt bea seems to me like all she wanted was the attention from being pregnant and the attention from having a newborn. She wasnt considering at all the exponential risk as women age to the fetus for birth defects due the age of the egg. To keep having children knowing there is a high risk of defect and passing off all offspring to ither offspring to raise is BEYOND selfish.
They do not educate their children. This requires a schedule, motivation and consistency, which they choose to focus their time on other things like buying airplanes, rvs, flipping houses and sleeping in.
Saw the cutest pic of jinger ever, wearing a pink hat with jeremy in a car(where else lol). She looked so normal and happy.
Joy anna has no say in her life even she is the only one who has to lve it for the rest of her life.

I can't believe that a grown person, Jessa, didn't know that when you're married, you're a MATRON of honor, not a MAID of honor. These Duggar kids really did receive a substandard education, not only in academics but in every day common knowledge. They have no life experience.

Was just looking at the DFO page and saw that they are asking for prayers for those affected by flooding in Arkansas. Quite a few people have posted that now is the time for their sons to put their ALERT training to good use, or fly supplies in, to help those in need in a practical manner as Jesus taught. When have the Duggar sons ever used their training to help anyone, I know i've never seen any posts anywhere, has anyone else? Jimbob was promoting it like mad on their facebook page a few weeks back, telling people it was a great place to send their sons. IBLP/ATI which runs ALERT is apparently not attracting new members and is loosing many from its ranks. If anything good ever came from all the Duggar scandals surely it is that it put a spotlight on this organisation and exposed it to its rotten core. Its promotion of patriarcy which leads to abuse of women and children. Its literal interpretation of the Bible which they use to justify anything and everything, and change laws which hurt innocent members of society. Hopefully it is on its way out, what will the Duggars and their ilk do then?

Always said...

Does anyone else find it disgusting that these Duggar girls have to have these honeymoon babies then another & another & another? Jim Bob & Michelle didn't do that . They were married a least 3 yrs. before they had Josh. Yes, I know the story about Michelle & her terrible experience with the birth control pill, who doesn't? These girls with the possible exception of Jinger, we don't know about her yet, don't have any of the alone time with their new husband to get away on a weekend or just sit together watching a movie. They are always pregnant from immediately after they are pronounced man & wife. Anna has beautiful children but I wonder just how much she knows about each ones individuality She admits she gets morning sickness that lasts at least 3 months so it's difficult to give a child the proper attention. She doing all the everyday work with the children & then homeschooling them. That must be some education based on how she did reading to 4 little children that time at the library. I don't understand the need to constantly be pregnant or producing a new baby which you eventually won't have time for, the older ones will end up just like the older Duggar girls did doing all the childcare for their younger sibling. I think we have already seen signs f that with poor MacKenzie. Now you don't even know she exists.

Heart in Florida said...

I think the recent photo of Jill's profile is NOT VERY modest of her at all. Standing there in front of little children with the overly tight spandex shirt so largely pregnant. How is that modest and conservative of her? I also think she's already quite large and should really consider the potential size of this child. I'd like to know who has been giving her the prenatal care she needs while down there? I mean what type of credentialed person; REAL midwife, obstetrician OR a 'friend'...perhaps herself? I hope not.

Re:Eli's comment. Yes Michelle is menopausal, not using birth control. The "specialist" they went to that was filmed & shown on the show told her that. However, she wasn't there to hear that, she wanted to hear that she would be the first woman in the world who could go on forever having babies, just for the count not because children are a "Blessing from God." Michelle God texted the Dr. & told him to tell you no, but again you didn't listen. In case you didn't hear that's what causes miscarriages in a women your age. Then you need to deal with the whole over the top memorial when the miscarriage happens. Please bloggers don't think any of this applies to younger women who have not been warned by their Dr's tha this is what's in their future.

Michelle & Jim Bob both say over & over again ad-nauseam, that they let God make the decision regarding pregnancy. Occasionally, Jim Bob will say he leaves it up to Michelle regarding another pregnancy. Not that she went out & got herself pregnant, just that she was ready for another "Blessing." Everyone knows that pregnancy is Michelle's way to shine in the family. I don't know how much she enjoys morning sickness & occasionally "morning sickness" can last 24/7. Whoever it means the most to, they both constantly talk about being pregnant. These foolish announcements & gender revel parties have gotten way out of hand, if the important thing to them is really a new baby. It seems they really want all the attention & accolades they receive for becoming pregnant. They don't seem to realize that in the real world becoming pregnant is not some rare achievement. Yes, sadly there are women who want children, who are unable to conceive. But these days between the advances in medicine or adoption they are often successful. Of course we all know Jessa & Ben want to adopt no matter how many biological children they have & they will continue to talk up adoption as long as the show last & then we'll see if they actually have any intention of adopting. In the meantime, it goes back & forth between Jim Bob & Michelle, about who is the one who wants the next pregnancy, which is a moot point now, as I'm sure Michelle is menopausal. I'll bet anything Michelle would like to be pregnant while her own daughters are pregnant. Then there would be even more attention about the mother/grandmother, who is going to give birth around the same time as one or two of her daughters. What a crazy bunch, why don't they just give the children they have the proper love & attention?

Here is a link to a very fair and thoughtful blog post about courtship and why it was a bad influence in this young woman's life....sounds so much like the rhetoric that the Duggars spew...I wish Joy could read this...to Joy Duggar - you don't have to go through with this wedding. Give it some time. DATE this young man. SEE if you really click. WAIT to fall in LOVE. You won't give part of your heart away if you break it off. Remember....love Multiplies, right?

What happens if one of these girls is unable to get pregnant or carry a child to term? Or *gasp* they chose not to have children?

Natasha said...

I'd say the best we can do with unable to conceive would be how they are handling Michaela Bates. She's been married a year with no babies.

Heart in Florida said...

Michaela seems to live only to conceive children in her marriage. I'm sorry that it's SUCH A LARGE FOCUS, if not the only focus in her marriage. Why is she not appreciating the time she and her husband have to do things together, enjoy some freedom to move about without all that baby equipment? If she's so fixated on a baby, both of them need to be checked out medically. Then they will have some answers. She should have a real part time job if she's so bored and it looks like she is. Perhaps then, they can afford a little larger of an apartment to house a baby, even if her job isn't permanent.

Joy and Austin had their joint bachelor/bachelorette parties this past weekend. I'm sure it was rather tame. Aren't those held near the wedding time? Why do websites say October 2nd when it is her 20th birthday (who wants to share their birthday and their anniversary on the same day?)Is that their idea of frugal savings by lumping celebrations into one day.

Elspeth said...

Michaela, to my view, does seem to be focusing on other things. She does have a part time job of being a nanny plus she opened her own sewing business. She and Brandon do enjoy each other's company and do a lot of varied things. She seems content if a bit wistful, but that's absolutely normal for someone who hasn't conceived when she expected. Young couples are told to give it a year at least before testing. I'm glad if they are resisting the urge to panic and perhaps Brandon's attitude is there to keep her family in check.

Elspeth said...

They used Joy's birthday as a placeholder. I'm sure the invited guests know when the wedding is. Jinger wanted to get married without the gossip rags being present and due to a few unfortunate braggers wasn't able to have that. They seem to have refined their techniques further for this wedding. She has no responsibility to tell anyone not invited when or where the ceremony is.

Meme said...

It is such a hoot that the Duggars and their future spouses have bachelor/bachelorette parties to "celebrate their last night of freedom." That's right boys and girls. Please excuse me for not understanding the point.

Seriously said...

The Duggar girls have been raised to believe their worth is determined solely by the ability to have babies. It disturbed me to hear Jill, Jana, Jessa and Joy asking if Jinger was pregnant yet-but they do not know better. I cannot blame them (although it is annoying), I blame their parents for failing to equip them to be full functioning adults. They exist in a very closed society and know nothing different.

Big kite said...

Meme is righr. Last night of freedom? These girls have never had freedom, nor will they ever. They have not had the freedom too: 1) think for themselves, 2) get an education, 3) explore their interests beyond child rearing (for which they have had poor examples, and 5) to choose a companion, mate and lover (that's done by daddy).

Dawn said...

What do the Duggars have to look forward to? On the outside we can dream and work toward making it come true.

They are emotionAlly stunted and it seems Ben was welcomed by Jim Bob because be could mold him like he wanted. Clipping their wings so they can ever soar is cruel.

Jill and Derick have posted another update and this time they are outright, barefaced asking for donations to fly them home and for living expenses while they are home for the birth of their new little blessing. These two have a total brass neck, they earn money from TLC, daddy is a millionaire, they will have a nice free house to live in, why do they feel the need to ask other people for money? The solution is a simple one, either stay in El Salvador continue working for SOS, or come home and Derick can go find a job to support his own family like every other decent hard working citizen. These people have no shame about anything, and their ego is huge all because they claim they are doing Gods work. They are doing nothing except trying to convert people to their warped version of christianity, all while feeling superior to them, total freeloaders.

Meme said...

Jim Bob and all the other Gothardites just LOOOVE to brag about how they support themselves without relying on food stamps, etc. Yet they keep their beggar cards current. I don't trust anything they say, or believe in any cause they claim to be championing. They lie, they cheat, they scam and misrepresent. It's probably a good thing that they all seem to know how to beg. Cause they sure don't know how to work.

When Jilly and Dilly married they got a huge number of gifts, many duplicates. What happened to the duplicates? Did they return them for gift cards? What about all the money they were paid by People each time they were in there?

What is with their sorry entitled begging? I am Disgusted with all the freeloaders. They learn what they live.
I wish they would just all go away.

Tori: Here, here. great post and I agree with you. Someone needs to tell them exactly what you posted here. Derick needs to commit to one place and either get a real job back here, or become a real full time missionary over there. They're trying to have it both ways. Can't keep flying back to the US almost at will and expect others to foot the bill for their lifestyle CHOICES. I don't like them very much.... poor Izzy.

Emma said...

I know its been asked many times before but why oh why does TLC keep this show on the air, there is more life in an undertakers than with this lot? Does JB have something on the production co/TLC that means he is holding them to ransom? This show doesn't have many sponsors, its ratings are low and it can't be making money so why do they roll it out season after season? Maybe they should let Josh on it again because the backlash will be huge, and it might just finally sink the ship.

Heart in Florida said...

When Derick and Jill are not 'doing missionary work', why should they be supported by others' donations? They have a TV income and a free house to live in when in the US and all the utilities are also free to them. I find it brazen of them to appear to 'needy'. Most people don't earn in a year what those two earn from being on TV and have all of life's expenses to pay for.
Josh or Anna returning to TV would hopefully be the cancellation of this TV show. It would make all of them the ultimate HYPOCRITES that Josh accused himself of being. I guess he really is the ultimate hypocrite. We all know that it wasn't in his 'heart plan' to have 5 children or MORE, so goin on TV to claim how happy he was and is to be a father again is a bold faced lie. He would be appearing on this show as if he agrees with this lifestyle wholeheartedly and is in agreement with his parents on their training of him. He doesn't agree with this lifestyle, nor does he want it. He also hasn't been happy with Anna. Anna, on the other hand, would also appear as if all is well with her household...which it isn't; talking about silly unrelated things and would also amount to hiding the real issues in her life. Just a bad idea from the get go. It would emphasize the hypocrite Jim Bob and Michelle have been about their 'happy family' in complete agreement with each other from the start of their TV 'show' or ...um, ministry.

Elspeth said...

The simple answer for keeping the Duggars on the air is ratings/money. It's a dependable show with a stable following. They have a group of followers and supporters who don't seem to notice or be deterred by Josh's problems, grifting, hypocrisy, or any of the Duggars' other flaws. All they see is the white wash of "Christian."

On Jill and Derrick's blog, Jill stated that they would be headed home soon for the birth before they couldn't fly. If she is due in July when is the latest date that a reputable airline would allow her to fly. Personally she looks ready to pop tomorrow. Would they need a doctor's note stating how far along she really is or do airlines just take someone's word?

Marites H. said...

Each airline is a bit different, but as a general rule I think the cutoff point for safe travel during pregnancy is the end of 2nd trimester. After that, there has to be ample documentation by the doctor that there is an urgent reason why she is travelling and that this expectant woman is otherwise healthy and fit to travel. I very much doubt Jilly Muffin has an OB/GYN. She already knows everything there is to know about birthin' babies.

Now that the Duggars seem completely focused on courting, engagements & of course, babies, babies, & more babies. I wonder if any of the younger Duggar children are receiving any schooling. Yes I am aware that Jim Bob & Michelle wouldn't miss the conference on homeschooling at Big Sandy for anything but do they actually t practice what they preach about homeschooling. My daughter is an elementary school teacher & I asked her if she would ever homeschool? Her answer was a resounding :"NO." She said although she is aware that there are many programs, or activities for homeschooled children, they don't take the place of the socialization the children need & receive in a classroom. They don't truly learn to share, or wait for their turn to do something. In our neighborhood we have adorable triplets. Last fall when they started school their parents made the decision to put each child in a different classroom. I know many who feel that twins or triplets should not be separated when they first start school. Well these little ones were overjoyed to have their own friends, their own teacher & classroom. They had spent the first yrs. of their lives always together, now they each had fiends to ride with on the bus & sit with at lunch. It brought to mind the Duggar children. All of them in the same classroom. No friends of their own, just lumped together. What are these parents doing to these children? They must learn at different levels, yet Michelle has them all together at the SOTDRT. What outside activities do they have that involve other children not just their brothers & sisters. There is something seriously wrong in that home

Sharla said...

American Airlines policy:
If your due date is within 4 weeks of your flight, you must provide a doctor’s certificate stating that you’ve been recently examined and you’re fit to fly.

Aunt Bea said...

I wonder if Jill will present her own 'midwife' certificate stating that she has examined herself and she is fit to fly? Will she be examined by a real, qualified, certified DOCTOR or will she use someone unqualified such as herself?

BTW, thank you, Sharla, for the rules for American Airlines.

Heart in Florida said...

Michelle doesn't teach her children anymore and hasn't for years now. They aren't at the dining room table, they're perched in front of their own computers and sit there doing their lessons one on one with their computer screens. Is this socialization? No, they aren't interacting with even their own sisters and brothers anymore when 'doing school'. I'm sure they're woefully behind even the worst student in public school.
Michelle posted that she's so glad Joy has a heart for children. So sorry that God didn't give her the same when she asked for one when she had only 6 children in that laundry room at 1am. She posted that she was so ready to make this a day that counted,, etc., but she STILL NEGLECTED to state what it is that she does all day, every day?

I was really hoping Joy's wedding would be (at the earliest) in the fall. But now that they have already had their bachelor/bachelorette weekend I am wondering if it isn't right around the corner. I kind of figured it would be in June when DJI are back from Central America. I know many women hate being pregnant when asked to be a bridesmaid but I am sure JillyMuffin would love being 9 months pregnant for all of the photos! -- Also, I know the Bates are very similar but in an instagram post this week they showed Tori/Bobby and mentioned that they are waiting for Tori to get her degree before the pair will get engaged/married. I do think the Bates have more common sense on financial matters in regards to their kids. While the Duggars have been making money on tv for more than a decade - they Bates had to rely on their income from Gil's tree business. While I am sure the new show with UP tv is helping - they have a much better idea of struggling to raise a family whereas the Duggars lived debt free thanks to big tv money. All that to say - I am glad the Bates adult children have had longer courtships are married to people with real jobs/some even have jobs themselves. That will help when the tv show ends.

Susie said...

The Bates are married to a number of sons of the cult. Some have real jobs, one works for Gothard. Not a bright future there.

Ginger said...

Sorry to be clear. I guess I forgot that we haven't read much, or heard much about the Duggar kid's education lately. Michelle always used to put a number of kids at the Dining Room Table, regardless of the gap in their age. She would then pretend to teach all of them at the same time. Bloggers have always referred to this as:The School of The Dining Room Table. They would eventually "Graduate," from The School of The Dining Room Table & receive a "Diploma," printed on one of the Duggars computers & called "The Duggar Academy." Neither Jim Bob or Michelle have more than a high school education, but they fancy themselves as teachers. They have the worst command of the English Language possible but they are the teachers, or should I say Michelle was always the teacher, with help from the older girls of course. However we haven't seen anyone doing any teaching for quite sometime. Those poor little ones, no education, no friends outside of their siblings. I wonder how they will function in the real world someday. What a life!

Just crazy said...

Sharla is absolutely correct about the rules for flying American Airlines. My son flies for them & believe me they have enough problems with passengers having heart attacks or seizures, other medical issues that the passengers never had a problem with before, so they don't need an obviously 8 month pregnant woman stepping on the plane, as that could certainly bring medical problems. They don't have Dr's on board every flight & they don't have equipment or even the space to deal with someone like Jill. By the way just where is Jill going to find a qualified Dr. in CA to write her a note saying it's safe for her to fly? Since that's where she is living, I would think that's where she would get a Dr's note. If American Airlines has these rules, I'm pretty sure other airlines also do, especially on international flights.

I, for one, am tired of conflicting historical information being put out there about this family. Many fans defend them saying that they were 'just fine' and doing well before TLC came along and that they were NOT dependent on the TV show and the free house being completed for them; they would have finished it themselves anyway....THEN, we see other information, and their old footage of early episodes. Those episodes show how crammed they were in those small bedrooms, lived on very cheap food, donations for everything, Grandma Duggar calling Campbell's Soup Company for free soup and Campbell food products to be donated to Jim Bob's household. WHICH IS IT? Both can't be true. We know JB had $250,000 in CASH socked away in a savings account to pay for his political bid, so how could they in good conscience bed for donations from corporations, local churches and charities? I think they know how to play the game very well. I'd like to hear on this posting site from someone who is local in Tontitown who has known and knows this family now as to what their true situation was and is now. I'd like to be correct about my assessment of this family and only someone who was 'there' could clear the air.

Elspeth said...

You've heard the expression willful ignorance? I think that's what happens to fans. It's the same thing as people saying Kate Gosselin (mega control freak and child hitter) was a great mother. They don't think. They block out anything that doesn't fir the narrative in their head and they accept what they're told at face value.

Not sure if I heard correctly watching last nights episode of BUB but I swore I heard a preview of ane of the Bates boys saying that Erin is expecting twins. Did anyone else hear this? The first thought that came to mind... Boy are those Duggar girls gonna be pissed! Especially Jinger.

Really Furious said...

I agree with Heart in Florida's comments about where are the residents of Tonitown & why has nobody ever spoken about the Duggars & their constant grifting? It's now gone to another generation & will probably pass to a 3rd generation. I think if Grandpa Duggar had lived, he might have outed them as we knew how he felt about the constant pregnancies & a family that size. He must have known his wife was contacting companies for freebies, as well as churches & anyone who had a few dollars, whether they could spare it or not. I remember well when he died & they showed them going to the funeral home to make the arrangements. They had used that poor man in his frail & feeble condition, as segments for the show, i.e. his birthday party, showing him in bed unable to speak, his actual death. I often wondered if the crew was there waiting for the actual moment to occur, as they are for the birth of babies. They showed them going to the funeral home to make the arrangements, a very private moment to most people. Jim Bob kept saying, oh he wouldn't want us spending that much money on the flowers or the casket, etc. At the same time the money was rolling in from TLC, using him in his last days & hours. They wouldn't even use the money made by filming the man in his last days & hours for a decent funeral. Whatever they had to spend they resented. Heart in Florida is right, somebody there in Tonitown knows all about the Duggars & their years of grifting but nothing is ever mentioned by the residents. Perhaps it's Jim Bob's constant threats & use lawsuits that keeps people quiet. Who really knows? Nothing has been revealed even when Josh got his big job in DC & then his fall from grace. Nobody is saying anything & I find it strange as most people gossip regardless of whether it's good news or the opposite.

Ellie on a roll did you by any chance mean that it would be Jill & Jessa that would be pissed if Erin Bates was expecting twins? Those are the two Duggar girls that are in competition for who can have the next baby the soonest. We don't know about Jinger, so far she is the only one of the girls who hasn't been pregnant with a honeymoon baby or expecting before her first anniversary. I really think she & Jeremy are using some form of birth control. I hope if she's using the birth control pill her parents don't know about it. After all Michelle has told everyone what will happen if you use the pill.

What would happen if one of the couples experienced fertility issues? As soon as any of them start courting they all start talking about how excited they are to see how many babies God will bless them with and how they would love to adopt. If they believe God blesses people with babies, would they seek out a fertility doctor or would that go against their beliefs? I can't see any of them adopting. It takes a lot of money and none of them have jobs except filming for TLC. I believe Jboob has it set up so that he receives all the money and gives it to them as needed. It is just another way for him to have control of his kids. Jillymuffin and Derickdillard are begging for money to finish their mission trip and to have an income to live on until the baby is born. Jboob is making sure he marries off as many of his kids as possible so that TLC will pay for the weddings. He certainly doesn't want to have to pay for the bachelor/bachelorette parties, flight to send the family to a different state to buy a wedding dress, and a wedding reception even though he is worth millions.

Derick should have been working full time earlier this year when back in Arkansas preparing tax returns. He is qualified to do so and should have thought about their personal living expenses and flight back here. It shows me that these two aren't planners. They live sporatically, like Derick meeting and deciding to court Jill when he hardly knew her, marrying so quickly, instant Izzy, fleeing the country at the spur of the moment with this homemade ministry business. Now they want to fly back and forth. I'd like to work Derickdillard's schedule myself and collect $24,000 tax free cash dollars for 6 months time myself. He has a good schemer plan going on there. Cathy needs to talk sense in to her son and have him realize he needs to live a real life and quit playing. She, herself, has seen the need for routine income and MEDICAL INSURANCE, sadly.

As far as Derick being able to prepare tax returns: I'm not sure about the state of Arkansas, but he might not be qualified to do so. In many states, you need to be a licensed tax preparer or a CPA. As far as I know, he only graduated with a Bachelor in Accounting, which again, in many states doesn't make you much more than a glorified bookkeeper. Perhaps he just doesn't want to put in any more work into a degree he'll never use.

Linda said...

It's definitely not required to be a CPA to do taxes in AR. Some woman trained by AARP does my mom's and there are H&R Block places all over.

Only four states regulate tax preparers and AR certainly isn't one of them.

All the more reason Derick should have been preparing tax returns when in the states. He was here during tax season....no excuse for him to have been doing nothing all those months.

The Duggars are fakes. Jimbob has millions in the bank but Jill and Derrick beg for money from hard working people. What have the Dillards really done in CA? Let's see some photos of their work. It's been years and 2 kids but Ben has not found a job yet. Poor Joy being married off so quickly, getting caught up in dress purchase but soon to be isolated in campground, impregnated before she realizes what has happened to her life. Isn't it about time Jeremy is offered a TLC show of his own? Was that is his goal marrying Jinger?

Opie said...

Derick should stop drinking the Christian Koolaid and set up shop as a bookeeper or earn his CPA. They have plenty of money without needing to beg. Austin and Joy should do the same and live somewhere beyond Camp Rock. Take your TLC money and go to school. I would watch that.

Jill is a disrespectful little self righteous twit. Derick made a big mistake rushing in to marrying someone he hardly knew.

Re:got2brc's comment about Jinger telling Michelle if she is using contraceptives. The reason I wouldn't want to see that is because that's a private issue between Jinger & Jeremy. Although I too, wouldn't mind seeing anyone tell JimBob & Michelle to mind their own business. Maybe just maybe, Jinger & Jeremy have a relationship where she is his equal & he's not her "headship." We don't really know. Whatever it is it's none of the senior Duggars business & they have enough to keep them busy as cheerleaders for their other married daughters & soon to be married daughter as they continue to force the idea of babies, babies & more babies. There's nothing wrong with wanting children but look at Jessa & Ben. They have absolutely nothing of their own. Not even a small apartment to live in, no jobs & yet the most important thing in their lives is pregnancy. For that matter it's the same thing with Jill & Derick. No home of their own, no jobs. When did the number of children you plan to have, for instance all this nonsense about adoption while you are pregnant or you have just given birth, become more important than how you love & care for the children you already have. Look at Anna who will soon have 5 children & a husband who is not exactly devoted to her. I can't believe for one moment that Joy won't be in the same situation as her sisters. I can' help but wonder if the Duggar fans actually believe that they too can have all these children regardless of their financial circumstances. That's a real concern. All these young women who worship the Duggar girls & think having babies only involves the pregnancy. They are not going to even think about the time & money involved in having 19 children & counting. By the time they wake up to the facts it will be too late. Look at Siera, such a young woman & all those children. Now she's looking for ways to support them. Someday they will all wake up & realize it's too late & they have too little to support these children that they were so anxious to have. Look at Josh back at the car lot to suppot 5 children.

I don't recall ever seeing or hearing Jim Bob give his own mother credit for anything. If we're supposed to 'honor thy mother' why doesn't HE honor his? All accolades from him go towards Michelle. Sad for Mary Duggar. I hope Deanna acknowledged HER MOTHER and I'm sure she did.

Wondering how Jill will return home in June, heavily pregnant. The airlines have rules against transporting a woman ready to give birth. I tend to believe she is hiding out in Duggarville right now. I saw a selfish blog where she is complaining about seasonal allergies in CA so we should pray for her and don't forget to donate, begging for money to help her and Derrick when they return to the US. What about working for a living like the rest of the world and also they have plenty of money from TLC? Also, Jill states another missionary has been posted at their location in CA to spread the word and she and Dillard are there to "soften hearts". How could they, selfishly thinking of donations for themselves, not for projects to help the local CA people, soften anyone's heart? This is being Christian??

Heart in Florida said...

Since the Duggars think so highly of being a mother and elevate their own mother to almost saint status, why is it that they have NEVER given any thanks or credit to the mother of Jesus? She, after all, accepted the most difficult 'motherly job' a mother could endure...from being a single mother to losing her son in front of her own eyes. I find this hypocritical and self serving of them. Mary, the mother of Jesus is barely a footnote to them on Christmas Eve; completely ignored on Mother's Day..and they call themselves 'christian'? OK to adore, revere, worship and compliment Michelle, but not Jesus' mother.

I have seen posted several times that Benboy was taking online classes to become a preacher. What ever happened to dream and also his Christian rap hopes? What a joke that was!! So now he is the busy house husband.. cooks, cleans and changes diapers. What does Jessa do all day besides put on makeup and nurse babies? I can understand a house husband career if the wife is out busy earning money but not sitting around the little house all day. It is amazing that with all their experience helping Michelle raise the little ones, that once the girls marry, they become helpless like Jill & Jessa show us, needing help cooking and cleaning up their messes. They are not women but stunted girls shoved into marriage and motherhood by DaddyJimBob.

At what point over the course of the show did the Duggar girls begin to wear all the make-up and transition from Little House on the Prairie dresses to a little more modern dresses? Did they begin to become aware of how they looked on TV? Was it TLC's influence? The change in their appearance was pretty drastic.

That one little Duggar girl, I think Jennifer...Her facial expressions in the Mother's Day video told a story all her own :)

Heart in Florida said...

Real World: I agree with your post. I have said before that their changes over these years contradict Michelle's belief that they were dressing and living EXACTLY the way the Lord had 'put on her heart to do' and were following Him. Any deviation from their prairie dresses, absolutely NO TV, whether it be on an actual television OR cheating by watching programming on their computers would contradict that belief. How is it that now, these changes are STILL GODLY living to them? It's a bit early, I hope my post makes sense,....but you get the gist of it.

It's really not uncommon to ask for mission money. I have a young relative who has asked for donations to help her fund her trips. I have also had young people from different religions come to the door asking for sponsors. In the past, it was common for their churches to put a small mention in the paper saying that so-and-so had returned from a mission and would be making a presentation at X place and Y time. I'm sure that having to account for their actions helped to keep them on the right path. I think many now do their presentations online.

Speaking of grifters, the ultimate grifters John and Esther Schrader (Esther is Anna's sister)just posted on their facebook that they are expecting their 11th child! Now there is a guy who really needs to leave his fake mission trip, take the family back to the states, and get a real job to support them! What is up with these fundie families thinking other people want to support them?

I hope when it's time for Joseph Duggar to ask permission to marry Kendra Caldwell that her father gives him "The Jimbob Treatment" by asking all kinds of intrusive questions and gives him all kinds of indifferent looks. Let's hope it's all caught on tape because it will be one awkward scene. Ex.So, Joseph. How do you plan to support my daughter? Do you have a bank account and what do you have saved in your own name? What kind of health insurance will you have for my daughter and future grandchildren? Will you allow her to seek proper medical treatment in a licensed medical setting for any and all medical situations? (No home touturous toilet births). I could go on and on.

Paris Mueller said...

I think Joseph's encounter with Kendra's father would go like this: Father: "So, you're a Duggar?" Joe: "Uhhh...uh huh." Father: "Welcome to the family!"

I grew up with a few kids who where home-schooled when it was rare. One family was hippies the other religious.

No, grifting or begging for mission money is not uncommon. It's despicable of a college educated accountant to sit home and pay his bills with other people's money when he could have been working and paying for his own family's upkeep while they were in the states.

I think mission begging is reprehensible though especially for missioncationing. My uncle practically demanded $5000 from my parents to fund his "mission trip to Thailand" for two weeks. He was such a Christian that he left their house in the middle of the night and didn't speak to them for years after they refused.

I'm a Christian, but I definitely don't believe in trying convert people and I especially despise trying to convert Christians to a particular brand of Christianity. Billy Graham and those following after him have a lot to answer for in heaven for being such huge pushers of "being saved" for all the good it does people to recite a little prayer. Christianity is a LOT more than four or five steps to salvation pamphlets and reciting a rote prayer.

Aunt Bea said...

No on funding the missioncationers: Your post is well written and I agree that no one should push their particular flavor of Christianity on other Christians. This is exactly what the Dillards, the Seewalds and the Duggar are doing. The jury's still out on Jeremy. Yes, reciting a saved prayer doesn't make you saved.

Heart in Florida said...

Anyone here versed on the Bible and the Gospels? Does Jesus say anywhere in the texts about having to be 'saved'? I can't recall Him using that term. Was it Billy Graham that coined it?

No on funding the missioncationers said...

From my research "being saved" was a concept really beginning or taking hold in the mid-20th century and Billy Graham with his huge revival type meetings and especially the filmed ones is the person who really made it into the evangelical/fundie thing we see today. It is not biblical although the four pillars are Bible quotes.

everythingieverwanted said...

Response to the folks talking about "being saved". There are many references in the bible about making a conscious decision to follow Christ and ask Him into your heart. "Behold I stand at the door knocking, anyone who opens the door and asks me in will be called sons and daughters" is just one of them.

I don't think they should be showing anything about Jill & Derick on "Counting On." Just exactly what have these two accomplished in CA? The things Jill writes about also happen right here in the states & if they wanted to do good work they wouldn't need too look far. They have people who probably cannot afford it giving them money just to live on, when the are perfectly capable of earning a living themselves. They continue to increase their family size & someone needs to pay for that & apparently it's not Derick. I don't know about other bloggers but it was my husband who got up & went out to work everyday to make a living for his family. I notice now in my neighborhood that there are no mothers home during the day, because they are out working to help support their family. Meanwhile Jill sits around having ladies over to complain about their lives, when there is absolutely nothing she can do to help them. What is Derick doing, showing men how to set up their household accounts to support their family?

Ellie On a Roll said...

I'm growing more concerned with Derek's staycations with Jill and Izzy in CA after the murder of their male friend by a gang or gorillas as was mentioned in a news report. Pretty sure Derek has no idea how truly dangerous it is and homeschooled, sheltered Jill wouldn't have a chance if the gang knocked down their door or whatever while Derek was away trying to convert people. Wake up and head back to the states. I also thought of something last night. Derek acted very strange and looked sick on their first "mission " trip to CA. I'm hoping he isn't involved in more sinister things down in CA.

Ellie On a Roll said...

I wish we could reach out to one of the Duggarville neighbors or locals that truly know the family. Think of the tell all they could pen with the help of a ghost writer. Seriously, it would be on the New York Times Bestseller List.

No on funding the missioncationers said...

There is a vast difference between saying you want Jesus in your life than thinking you're saved for all eternity because you recited a rote prayer. Catholics (who the I'm saved are you folks think are the damned) believe in asking for Jesus to be in their hearts.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumor that Jim Bob has convinced TLC to have Josh involved in the new season of "Counting On?" Supposedly he is only going to talk about how much he loves being a father. Jim Bob is apparently very concerned about the ratings drop & thinks having Josh in the show will bring an increase in the numbers. I've got news for Jim Bob that's a huge mistake. How many want to see Josh's face on the tv. again?

Did anyone else happen to notice that Jilly muffin got two birthday posts on DFO? She got the usual generic one and a special one from Daddy. I have never seen this done for any of the other children, I wonder what it is about Jill that elevated her to the lofty position of daddies favourite? I have heard her siblings say that she was the family snitch (to her eternal credit she was the one who ratted Josh out to the parents),so could this be why? She also seems to be the one to follow the family/gothard/fundie rules, and of course theres the selfless missionary work!! I wonder if her brothers and particularly sisters feel any resentment towards her for being daddies blue eyed girl?

I don;t think Tori will wait until next May.I think the latest they will marry is November or December and maybe September. Just because she said May 2018 doesn't mean anything in their world. She's graduate, but married.I don't recall such a long engagement among them. I would be surprised if it went that long. Did Erin graduate married? I can't recall. They also like to compete with the DUggars in a friendly matter.

I always thought Erin was too pristine to wear shorts, but good for her. Maybe she caught a hint from Alyssa and Jinger.

This rumor came from pickles and hairspray page. She has an 'insider' who is a friend of the Duggar family who has an invitation to the weddding and said it was this saturday (20th). While this hasn"t come from the horses mouth pickles sources are usually on the money.

Regarding Erin wearing shorts. I looked at that picture pretty closely and I think it's a skirt, but just the way she is standing makes it look like shorts.

Regarding the birthday post from "daddy" for Jill. What makes me sick about those posts is that there is absolutely nothing personal about them. They all talk about what wonderful helpmates they are, giving etc., etc., but nothing personal. They all sound the same. I read it several times and I don't even remember seeing anything like "I love you and are so looking forward to having you and Derick home etc."......

I am of the opinion that Jill is already home in Duggarville ready to attend Joy's wedding. There is no real proof she is still in CA even though she posts she is. Dillard has to be a totally delusional person to put his sheltered, frightened wife, new baby & Izzie back in CA. If he feels God calling him, why not check out impoverished & depressed areas in the USA, help them "see the light" and encourage employable skills since he is a college graduate. It's time DimBulb stepped to save is favorite daughter & grandchildren from potential harm in CA. Can you imagine Jill being kidnapped for ransom, dragged off into the jungle and what she this mostly innocent woman/child would have to endure? They kidnappers could even pose as locals, get into their house to pull off a kidnapping. A few precise shots at the Duggar security team and this could be a real possibility.

sandi said...

I felt sorry for Jana when everyone was raving over Jill; I think it was her wedding rehearsal.Even Josh got up and was saying to the crowd about how Jill was what their parents were 'finally looking for'.In retrospect, we all know he was just talking for the sake of the show.
Idk if this was all done just for the show, but I imagine poor Jana was thinking,"What am I,chopped liver?" That was ridiculous,to pick one child and gush over them like that

Natalie Jervis said...

I don't know why Joy is so excited about future hiking & camping trips when she will most likely by pregnant within a few months of wedding. How will she cope with caring for a baby in a tent? I wonder if she faces the reality of what her life will most likely be like in a year, under the thumb of her husband & the camp ground owner father in law. Right now it's about travelling to buy a wedding dress, getting gifts & being the star of a wedding, excitement designed to get this child married off for TLC ratings before she understands what's happened to her.

Hannah J said...

It is only a matter of time before we see Josh's doughy face on Counting On. Who can watch him without thinking of his wild nights with the stripper? I can just see Anna's adoring look at him as he pontificates about Christian/Gothard way to live. What a joke this will be.

Nettie said...

What's Ben doing these days aside from helping Jessa and adjusting his hat in the mirror? Why does he wear a hat in the house, anyway. It is actually rude to sit down at a table wearing a hat but of course the Duggars have no idea of acceptable social graces. Why is this strong and healthy man not working at a real job?

Just saw the pic of Jill in the tightest, most immodest lavender shirt showing off her huge "baby bump". What airline would fly home such a heavily pregnant woman? Do no rules apply to the Duggars? Re:Nettie's comment about Ben wearing his hat at the table. I was raised to believe it was rude for any man to wear a hat inside the house let alone at the table. I would never allow my son to wear a hat indoors. I find it extremely rude. It seems as though Ben wants to make himself "special" somehow. If wearing a hat inside the home is the only way he knows how to be different & special, he has never been taught any manners. There are manners & there are social graces just a little bit different but he falls into both categories. He certainly thinks he's something special. A non-working husband & father of 2 children, who's only job apparently is changing diapers & doing whatever Jessa tells him to do. Jessa herself has no manners or social graces, so they are both hillbillies in my opinion.

Crazy Bunch said...

When you read Genna Glouster's comments about what could easily happen to Jill & her children in CA, you have to wonder if these terrible people she is always writing about have any idea of just how wealthy her father is & how it wouldn't be that far off to think that she might be the target of kidnappers who could live comfortably on Jim Bob's money. It's a scary idea but certainly possible

Emma said...

I saw a similar post think it was E!online. If its true why wait all this time to sue and why so close to Joys big day, are they really so hard up for publicity? Also if they are is that not being a tad hypocritical should they not forgive whoever released it just like they forgave Josh? The fans are going to have a field day with this.

Andrea said...

I think the breach of privacy sue has some merit, but surely the county had lawyers look over the documents before they were released. If I'm remembering correctly all names were retracted from the document. InTouch came across the documents after a freedom of information request, it's not like the documents were just sitting around.

As for the timing of the suit, I think it just took some time to get legal counsel to look over and decide whether the suit had merit. It's actually coming up on two years since this all started to happen so perhaps there is some sort of time limit to filing so it was now or never.

That said, who the Duggar daughters should be suing is their parents and TLC, for spiritual, mental, sexual and physical abuse all for financial gain.

It is Ben's birthday today and it is in Warden Bates birthday. Both families posted on instagram which happened to be back to back on my feed. Quite the difference in the entry for each person. I still don't know why they post on the internet when most of the kids don't have access to the internet to see these things (at least the Duggars, not sure how much the Bates kids might be able to access).

The lawsuit for the girls is hypocritical with regards to they wanted privacy but the family releases every detail of their lives to these magazines anyways so if they wanted privacy then they need to stay off the internet, off television, etc.
